My dad did it...he didn't beleive me...hasn't had a leg cramp since...he did try the bananas which didn't work.

As a health care professional myself, I can't explain it, but I've had numerous patients tell me about their success.

Dad still keeps the bar of soap with him between the sheets.

No, I have never heard of that. My mother used to have leg cramps, and the doctor told her that it was often caused by a lack of calcium in the blood and he told her to take a calcium suppliment. He recommended taking calcium citrate instead of calcium carbonate, because it is assimilated into the bloodstream more rapidly. And he said she should CHEW the tablets, for faster action.
I have often heard of drinking a glass of milk or eating a piece of cheese before bedtime, but that was a long time ago, before the availability of calcium suppliments. I must admit, though, that I tried it once, when I had leg cramps, and they went away. Maybe milk DOES help some!

No...that won't stop leg cramps. They are usually from low potassium. Try drinking some orange juice or eat a banana before bed. That should stop your leg cramps.

Irish spring is the soap that is suppose to do the trick. I've also heard rubbing vicks vapor rub on the soles of your feet works too.
