Yes, whether you are a churchgoer or not, whether you have personal religious beliefs or not, YOU'RE TITHING!!
Actually, it is more like doubletithing, tripletithing, quadruple tithing and even quintuple tithing in many cases. You're doing that everytime you purchase something, every time you take your car for inspection or to renew the tags, everytime you renew your drivers license, everytime your employer pays you, or you pay the state and the federal government their share of your earnings, or the county and the school districts get their share of your hard earned money for the right of owning personal property.
However, most people don't call it tithing. They call it TAXES!!!
Most important of all, did you know that by religious organizations being tax exempted, you have to pay THEIR SHARE of the taxes?
So next time you're asked by your pastor, bishop, priest, or any other religious leader whether or not have you tithed, what are you going to say?

To LauPu: How do you think civilization started? Religious leaders were once the government in ancient times, and in the beginning, people would contribute their share of their earnings, which eventually it became a taxation.
However, modern churches don't want you to know that and of course, they'll shove the Bible down your throat to make sure that you support them, regardless of whether you have your personal obligations already, and as recently as 10-15 years ago, some started selling you the concept that if you contribute to their causes, you'll get richer.
It is hard to believe that most intelligent people don't see through that.

To Kithy: My point is that governments extort enough from me without religious organizations doing the same thing.

Also to Kithy: It doesn't matter whether it is money or goods, the end result is the same.

To whozangel: No offense, but you're the prime example as to why so many preachers do live a lifestyle not unlike those of celebrities and entertainers, and not all of them are on TV.
There was a pentecostal preacher who wore Armanis and his wife would always have salon-perfect hair and shop at Neiman Marcus. 'Nuff said.

To Whozangel: If there was a possibility of chooseing the worst answer, yours would be it. You seem intellingent, but you're just too brainwashed to see what's in front of you.
