Seems to me they keep coming here to see if anyone can prove to them the existence of God because they are so desperate to believe.

I just want to clarify two things, I'm not Christian and I wasn't trying to bait anyone. Why can't anyone give a serious answer. It seems to me rather a waste of time for an agnostic or athiest or free thinker or what ever they want to call themselves, to be answering questions of faith when they profess to have none. I was just looking for some deeper meaning, but it seems that no one wants to go below the surface.

I don't think its because they're desperate to believe but longing to understand religious people or trying to "break the fantasy" that they believe the religious are living in. I've seen athiests on here out to convert just as much as the christians and their arguments are just as nonsensicle. But I've yet to here an athiest say that he/she wanted to believe.

regrettably you amply show the lack of information that is going with a christians closed innovations!! ATHEIST - somebody who would not have faith in a God – any God – no longer in user-friendly terms the Christian one. yet that does no longer propose they do no longer carry sturdy ethical or religious ideals! they are able to stick to any faith that would not have a god and there are distinctive those!! large religions like BUDDHISM – religious coaching from Buddha and his followers that via destroying greed, hatred and fantasy (the reason for all suffering) guy can attain ideal enlightenment!! So why do you no longer open your innovations and advance your awareness and mind so as which you will "provide us an excellent question or answer with out scary or mocking different "religions/spiritualities!!!!"

Sad to say, but I think a lot do because they find it amusing to get a rise out of someone and they know that religion, like politics is a "hot button" for many folks.

I agree that the curosity never dies. Even if some use criticism. I think most pay more attention than they admit. Which is better than staying totally away.

because this is where the religious and spiritual people come to find answers, so it's the best place to ask.

No, we just want you to understand that you can not prove god. Lack of religion is just the other side of the coin to belief in religion. As such it is posted in R&S

They come here mostly to mock and try to persuade people to their atheistic worldview.

Exactly. It's just like those nutters who go to the Mythology and Folklore section because they're so desperate to believe in faeries.

Swedenborg states "a perception of the sphere of falsity from evil that flows forth from hell has often been granted me. It was like a perpetual effort to destroy all that is good and true, combined with anger and a kind of fury at not being able to do so, especially an effort to annihilate and destroy the Divine of the Lord, and this because all good and truth are from Him. But out of heaven a sphere of truth and good was perceived, whereby the fury of the effort ascending from hell was restrained. The result of this was an equilibrium. This sphere from heaven was perceived to come from the Lord alone, although it appeared to come from the angels in heaven. It is from the Lord alone, and not from the angels, because every angel in heaven acknowledges that nothing of good and truth is from himself, but all is from the Lord" (Heaven and Hell n. 538).
