God was the god of the Hebrews, and they were very much "we are the chosen people'. Many of the Old Laws were also set to distringuish the Hebrew different than the 'infidels'. Many stories of the Old Testement carry a strong tone that they did, in fact, believe other Gods existed, but felt their's were the most powerful.

I think that's a good question. From the Bible it does sometime seem that God is unfair. A better understanding of the purpose of earth life might help with resolving this seeming flaw in His character.

Prior to birth we lived as spirit children of a Heavenly Father. In order to progress in our eternal development, He sent us to school on earth to learn through our own experience the difference between right and wrong. It's one thing to be told over and over again what's right, but true understanding is more likely when we experience what happens when people make both good and bad choices.

People are given the opportunity to complete different assignments on the earth to help in our Heavenly Father's plan. Just because people have different assignments, doesn't mean He loves them any less.

People are born into an infinite variety of circumstances. I believe Heavenly Father has our best interests at heart when we're given these assignments.

The "people" were chosen for God to deliver the Word through...it is up to them to heed the Word. The Jews are descended from the tribe of Issac, Christians are an extension of that lineage who follow the prophet Jesus (PBUH). The Muslims/Mohammad (PBUH) are descended from the tribe of Ishmael and that pretty much covers everybody as far as Word delivery goes. So guess what...we are ALL the "chosen people".

He certainly did, the Israelites were God's chosen people. That did not mean He did not love all the other peoples. Israel was chosen as the people he revealed Himself to, giving them the knowledge of his Oneness, he told them his name...I AM. Other cultures of the time responded to the human longing for God with belief in many gods. As God's people, they were instructed over the centuries about the coming Savior. Only when Christ came, lived among them, was crucified and rose again in a glorified body, did the words of the prophets make sense to the Chosen people of God. Then there was no need for them to remain chosen. The GOOD WORD, the Christ , was given to all so that we may have eternal life with him, and not die again. It is for all men. God bless you.

Yes. Israel is the only nation that was created and named specifically by God. It is the only nation He has made covenants with as a nation. It is the only nation He has blessed and protected by promise and eternally. He made Israel out of Abraham's seed when there was no nation and has continually been with Israel, though He sometimes withdraws because of their disobedience. It's the only nation for which God will bless or curse other nations' treatment of them. He has done all of this because of one man's faith and belief and obedience in God, Abraham. It's not a far stretch to believe the Creator of this world would favor one man's faith, obedience and belief in this way. Study the character of God and you would know He is a rewarder of all who diligently seek him.
In the New Testament, God favors the gentile in such a way because the gentile accepts Jesus as the promised Messiah.

ABSOLUTELY. Do you know why they are called Gods "Election:? Do you know what they did to earn that title? The manuscripts are quite clear in the Hebrew:
There are three earth ages: you can read of them in 2peter. Satan wanted the throne and position of Christ. He started a war over it. A third of our people (yes: all of us were there, already created souls) followed Satan. Then, a large portion of the people stayed neutral: they didn't really care, as long as it didn't affect them. Then there was a group who stayed loyally and stedfast on the side of God. When Satan was defeated, a couple of things happened. First, Satan was judged and found guilty and sentenced to perish. Then, those who were loyal to God were named as "Elect" or it is often translated "saints", which simply means "set aside ones". These were the ones who fought and defeated Satan in the last earth age, and these will also be the ones to be delivered up before Satan (Antichrist) as a witness for Christ, when this age begins to draw to a close.

The Election of God earned the right to be called Chosen or Elect. God was not happy with those who followed Satan during that war, but he was equally as unhappy with those who remained neutral.

Look around you. Each and every person you see fits into one of those three groups.
Either you followed Satan, or you didn't even care enough to take a side, or you are of Gods Elect. Period.
Yes, this would be precisely what I would expect the Creator of this World to do.

The basis for any of God's favor and choosing is not always revealed...One thing is for sure...God does not arbitrarily or capriciously,pre-destine some for favor and some for disgrace...God,as seen in both Old and New covenants testify, that he is a fair guy...and would never turn from anyone, who sincerely is seeking Him.

God did not chose the Jewish people because of the Jewish people. he did not love them more than other people.

The Jewish people at the time were the weakest people. The were the smallest in numbers. This is why he chose them. God takes what is weak in this world and uses it to manifest his presence.

In the beginning God made man after His image. Yes. It does.

Yes why not? You need to understand the meaning of 'chosen people', why they were chosen and chosen for what purpose.
