Definitely possible, many people drive from England to Greece via Italy. London to Rome is 1734 km (about 1100 miles) It'll take you about 24 hours driving.

19 hours from London to Rome (1172 miles).
Fly. It will be cheaper and easier. You have to load your car on a train to cross the channel, plus if your car is right-side drive, it will be an extra hassle for you in the rest of Europe.

Yes it would be. My collage went by Bus. You will have to cross the channel at some point, either by ferry or on the euro tunnel train. It will take a very long time though. think to the north it's about twenty hours.
