This is an excellent, excellent question.

There are so many wonderful examples to choose from such as Buddha, Ghandi, etc... but in the end I think I would pattern my life after Jesus. Regardless of divinity or not, the principles Jesus taught are truly a higher way to live.

Instead of just saying "thou shalt not kill" and "love thy neighbor", he said "love your enemy and do good to them that curse you." Is it not easy to "love your neighbor" and not kill them? Usually that is not hard. However, loving people who are cruel to you is very difficult. Jesus' law, although more difficult to follow, leads us to lives full of love for all mankind.

On top of that Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek, comfort those that mourn, give to the poor, forgive others as often as they offend us, avoid judging others, etc...

Regardless of divinity or not, the teachings of Jesus are truly enlightened. There is a reason why he is still almost universally admired after 2,000 years.

I truly wish I could be more like him.

I try to pattern my life after Jesus, He is the major inspiration in my life.
He had and has it all that is good and to be desired.
if I tried to list all of his good qualities this post would be much too long to read.
but then you know what they are, so there is no real need to list them.

I can't think of any woman that has not had trials and tribulations like us all.

I am flawed and uneducated but I have a strong will and the ability to learn. I am capable of love and compassion but I don't give it unless it is earned. Life has taught me that.

I want to be me, although I made more than few mistakes in life.

I would pattern my life after Christ- because we are created in the image of God- and because of what Christ has done, we are new creatures- and we are to be "like" Christ. I not attained this yet, however as Paul says- "I press on toward the goal:"

My life is built on nothing else
than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly lean on Jesus Name

On Christ the solid Rock I stand
All other ground is sinking sand
All other ground is sinking sand.

Jesus. And all things are possible with him. I want God to make me holy and righteous as Jesus. I know I have sinned but in his time I will walk holy and righteous as Jesus.
