At least in Greek mythology, when a god and a person had a child, they gave birth to a demigod, not a god itself.......which is correct from a genetics standpoint.

It certainly makes sense. A baby gets half of its genes from mother, half from father. If Mommy's human and Daddy's a God, the child is half-God, half-human

Maybe next time, you should ask "Did the ancient Christians intuitively understand theology better than yourself?" Since God is pure spirit, He did not have any DNA of His own to contribute. In other words, He created some DNA. Not that difficult for someone who can create the entire universe.

Funny, I do not remember that being part of genetics when I took it in college. No, I am certain we did not discuss the genetic code it took to arive at a demigod.
