Equals lack of results. History repeating itself. Mikey struggled on a quality team and in no way has the know how to try and build one of his own. He wrecked over 50% of the time in 2005 but at least that was in races. He has to be at about the same pace this year but it's while driving around by HIMSELF trying to qualify!

Wrecks in 2005: USA Today has some stats and articles about wrecks in 2005 Nextel Cup races, the drivers with the most wrecks:
Drivers with the highest accident rate (minimum of 30 races)
Name %.
#15-Michael Waltrip 52.8% [#55 in 2006]
#97-Kurt Busch 50.0% [#2 in 2006]
#43-Jeff Green 47.2% [#0 in 2006]
#9-Kasey Kahne 44.4%
#10-Scott Riggs 41.7% [#10 Evernahm in 2006]
#07-Dave Blaney 38.9% [#22 in 2006]
#88-Dale Jarrett 38.9%
#8-Dale Earnhardt Jr. 38.9%
#22-Scott Wimmer 38.9% {?#4 in 2006?]
#38-Elliott Sadler 36.1%

Worst time for Mike to start a team. He has to spend $$$ on the COT and the present cars for the whole team which means less money spent on improving. If it would have been Jr Motor sports, it would have been the same. Since NASCARs going all COT next season, It will be less expensive so you will see more teams that don't have $$$ do very well.

I have no problem with Darrel but Micheal and Toyota = nothing except a past champion unable to qualify for races. I wonder what is going through Dale Jarret's mind now

Mikey isn't doing to well is he, his team gets caught doing something they knew they shouldn't be doing and for the next
two mouths is can't even qualify for a race and the only race he can enter he crashes during practice. If he keeps this up he might not have a team to worry about next year.

= a good possibility he may be sharing the announcing duties with DW before long. Great!! Then we'll have TWO clowns to put up with on race day. No wait... if you count Jeff Hammond, it'll be three. I'm sure looking forward to TNT.
(At least then we won't have to watch Hammond explaining the function of brake ducts while they're racing under green.)

Mikey grabbed an opportunity most would have begged for. I would have. He knew it was not going to be easy, so did Toyota. I have a feeling Mikey will stop driving (I sure hope and pray) and concentrate on getting the cars competitive. I would love to see Mark Martin try to qualify the #55.

I think it is great that more teams are trying to develop makes for more challenges. Wish they could have a decent race for once. Not a real fan of Toyota but everyone deserves a chance...

Look I think everyone who has watched Nascar for more then 5 minutes knew a new car maker racing wasn't going to be easy. Then you make it 10 times worse by having 3 cars owned by and one driven by mikey that's a bad idea.I enjoy mikey he makes me laugh, but he has surely bitten off more then he can chew.

If Mike had started just a single car team he would have done better. He started a 3 car team and that was too many for a "1st year new team".
Will he bounce back, good chance. This year not really.
