If you say that the the Godhead has three different roles, that would be inaccurate. The word Trinity merely abbreviates a concept. That concept being that God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three distinct personalities within a single Godhead--ie GOD.
It is like the concept of light. Is there such a thing as white light? Yes. Does it exist as one light? Technically, no. It exists as a compound unity of equal illumination of red, green and blue spectrum. So white light does NOT exist? Of course it does. But in the form of three-in-one.
Science can explain it, and we have just gotten used to it. In the eternal, such things are equally possible and exist. God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all. What color? Pure white via a three-fold unity.
There are things in the eternal realm that go beyond our simple minds and limitation of the 4 dimensions. How can Jesus be God incarnat? How can there be one tri-une God? When it comes to timeless eternity, you not only have to think out-of-the-box, you have to think quantum "out" and sideways.
To limit Jesus as being "God's face" would be inaccurate. He is God entire being. While He was present in the physical limitation of time-space (on earth as a man) it was like a tree that you could see on the surface with roots in the Godhead in the unseen. When God came in the form of man, He broke through the time-space continuum in order to save those whom He loved. To deny the deity of Jesus is to relegate Him to imperfect man, and thus not the Lamb without spot of blemish as a sacrifice for the sins of the world.
Jesus says that He and the Father are ONE (heis in Greek which means literally the number 1, and the Jews seek to stone Him for claiming to be God incarnate.
John 10
"I and My Father are one."
Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
Jesus answered them, “Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?”
The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."
The whole reason the Jews sought to kill Jesus was because He, being a man, made Himself out to be God. If He was NOT God, then He was rightly put to death and was then a sacrifice WITH sin and blemish. Since He IS God, then His death was that of the Lamb WITHOUT spot or blemish.
To say it is not supported by scripture is to fall into extreme error and you will also have many contradictions to deal with. You will also have strange bedfellows who will support this error. http://schnebin.blogspot.com/2007/04/strange-bedfellows.html

‘But isn’t Jesus called a god in the Bible?’ someone may ask. This is true. Yet Satan is also called a god. (2 Corinthians 4:4) At John 1:1, which refers to Jesus as “the Word,” some Bible translations say: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” But notice, verse 2 says that the Word was “in the beginning with God.” And while men have seen Jesus, verse 18 says that “no man hath seen God at any time.” (Authorized or King James Version) So we find that some translations of verse 1 give the correct idea of the original language when they read: “The Word was with God, and the Word was divine,” or was “a god,” that is, the Word was a powerful godlike one. (An American Translation) Clearly, Jesus is not Almighty God. In fact, Jesus spoke of his Father as “my God” and as “the only true God.”
Did Jesus ever say that he was God? No, he never did. Rather, in the Bible he is called “God’s Son.” And he said: “The Father is greater than I am.” Also, Jesus explained that there were some things that neither he nor the angels knew but that only God knew. (Mark 13:32) Further, on one occasion Jesus prayed to God, saying: “Let, not my will, but yours take place.” (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were the Almighty God, he would not have prayed to himself, would he? In fact, following Jesus’ death, the Scripture says: “This Jesus God resurrected.” (Acts 2:32) Thus the Almighty God and Jesus are clearly two separate persons. Even after his death and resurrection and ascension to heaven, Jesus was still not equal to his Father.
As for the “Holy Spirit,” the so-called third Person of the Trinity, this is not a person but God’s active force. John the Baptizer said that Jesus would baptize with holy spirit, even as John had been baptizing with water. Hence, in the same way that water is not a person, holy spirit is not a person. (Matthew 3:11) What John foretold was fulfilled when, following the death and resurrection of Jesus, holy spirit was poured out on his followers gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says: “They all became filled with holy spirit.” (Acts 2:4) Were they “filled” with a person? No, but they were filled with God’s active force. Thus the facts make clear that the Trinity is not a Bible teaching. Actually, long before Jesus walked the earth gods were worshiped in groups of three, or trinities, in places such as ancient Egypt and Babylon.

First, there is only one reference regarding the Holy Trinity in the New Testament (New Covenant): Matt 28:19.
Now to your specific question: God is spirit and has no physical characteristics. The face of God is an expression while Jesus as man has a face.
No one states that there is more than one Holy Trinity. It is like a woman who is a daughter, a wife, and a mother; it does not means we are talking about more than person who happens to be female.
Now to correct you limited knowledge of Christianity. You are focusing on the wrong issue: Simply put, was Jesus only God; was Jesus both God and man; or was Jesus only man. The mainstream Christianity chose "God and man". Some Christian sects "only man". The "only God" was suppressed when Christianity became the state religion of Rome.
I find it disturbing that this attack on the Holy Trinity as not monotheism especially since it is clear that God is spirit, that we worship him in spirit and in truth, and that Jesus is "the way, the truth, and the life" and that no one get towards the father except through him.
Before you babble about Holy Trinity, a concept you clearly do not understand, as non monotheism, you need to reexamine your own beliefs regarding Jesus. There are three choices and depending on the choice, you will form a belief not a proof regarding the Holy Trinity.
Another example of applying the scientific method to a belief. Clearly there is no way to verify your theory.

Well, I know my views are not mainstream, but it seems to me that the Trinity is more about explaining our own existence more than anything else. I think it talks about the Father (the creative energy in the universe), the Son (our physical bodies) and the Holy Spirit (our own soul). These 3 things come together to create you and me and each one of us. I am a combination of the God energy, my own Divine Soul and this physical body - am I not? That surely qualifies to me as 3 things working as 1 entity.
Peace!

Jesus, as God on earth, was a representation of God and thus so was his face. But as a Christian, I see God all around me, in living and other things, not necessarily male humans. So the "face of God" may be the wind, the fall colors, the ocean, a child, a grandmother, or a 33-year-old Palestinian/Israeli

The trinity is a rip off of Plotinus's concept of The One, The intellect, and the soul.
The one is the absolute, and brings forth the intellect, or mind. This is the manifested universe that emanates from the one that is of the same quality as the one. The soul then contemplates this manifested universe through the intellect in order to return to the divine mind of God, labelled here as The One. They are different words that describe Reality. So the word One and the word Soul describe a different part of reality, but we must remember that reality is one, hence why we call the absolute one, so every "part" in reality is equal to all other parts. We label different aspects of absolute reality as it correlates with different things that we know in life, so that we can more fully understand our own origin.
The trinity, as Father, Son, and Holy spirit, is a more simple definition of this. The Father creates everything, to which the Son is like the Sun, as it holds the universe in check, and the "force" or "spirit" of this is the Holy spirit, sort of like gravity.
The importance distinction between Plotinus and Christianity is that although Christianity portrays a humanistic image of reality, Plotinus refers to it as concepts, in order to posit a more pure form of reality.
The trinity of Christianity is very good and can be contemplated on indefinitely, however, it becomes confusing and so naturally must become a concept. In other words, trying to imagine Jesus as equal to God forces the two forms together, and so all you are left with is One. So basically, the Christian trinity reverts back to its "truer" form, which is equal to the system of Plotinus. But in reality, our mind is the dual nature, so we are the "two," meaning that we must understand the simple form of reality as a complex thing. So to sum up, God, in reality, or God from God's perspective, is simple, but to us, he is complex. Why? Because there is one of him, and many of us.

extremely we use scripture to instruct that Jesus is God because the Son of God in that His Divine Nature is determined with the help of His Father. The Trinity is in basic terms the reason of the way it extremely is achieveable considering that there remains in basic terms one God.
