Yesterday, my dog was scratching at something on the floor and sniffing it. I went over and it was the BIGGEST tick I had ever seen in my life. I guess it had fallen off of one of my dogs :(. I don't understand how though, I pet them, bathe them, rub them continuously. Anyways, the dog that was sniffing the tick-her mouth was drooling like crazy. It was just pouring out of her mouth everywhere she walked. So bad, someone could've slipped. So I was wondering if this was caused from the tick coming out of her mouth?

Some people have told me yes, some say no so, I thought I'd try here. Nothing comes up when I look it up.

The tick got full so it fell of (or fell out) of one of my dogs. It was so big, it looked like a milk dud.

A tick can feed anywhere there is a blood supply, so my guess would be yes.
The drool is a natural reaction to a foreign body in the mouth, and apparently it made the tick lose his foothold and fall out of your dog's mouth.
Ticks are bloodsuckers and the more they feed, the more their greedy little bodies grow in size.

Washing your dogs is not enough (unless you use a flea and tick shampoo once a week). Don't get discouraged - it happens to the best of us, and probably has a lot to do with the part of the country you live in.

Good luck!

Hi. In 45 years of dog handling I have never seen a tick in a dogs mouth. They always migrate to the head (so that they are safe when the dog goes into water)
One of the best methods of getting them off the dog is to dab the tick with oil of lavender (dog smells good too!) The tick breathes through it's abdomen so another method is to smear them with vaseline jelly and that suffocates the tick.

OK here is a funny story.
For years I would have said NO WAY
but about 2 weeks ago my own daughter woke up and found one on her tongue. We were outside camping. So I guess if she could why couldn't the dog

This is possible...Ticks can get stuck anywhere. If the tick is big, like completely bloated, it's been sucking blood, supposedly your dog's blood. ;(
