Wonder away; most of us are trying to free the handful of open-minded Christians to come along.
Additionally, Yahoo Answer is supposed to supply correct answers, which is what atheists are trying to do.

Religious? No. Spiritual? Yes, in many cases. Depends on the individual.
This is an open forum, and all of us have a right to be here. How else can we learn about the beliefs of others? Personal connections are always the best. Discussion is a good thing.

As a side note, how many times a day is this question or a variant of it posted here? I get the feeling the religious would love for us to disappear!
Anyway, to your question. First of all, R&S stands for Religion AND SPIRTUALITY.
Religious: "imbued with or exhibiting religion; pious; devout; godly:"
Spirtual: "of or relating to the mind or intellect."
We are not religious (we can't be religious, because we do not have a religion), but some of us are spiritual in the sense of the definition above.
Second of all, consider this question. Does one have to be an astronomer to post in the Astronomy section? Nope, just have to be interested and/or know something about astronomy. Same on R&S. We don't have to be religious, we are all just interested in Religion.
Then, there are the fundamentalist atheists, who feel like they have a "Great Commision" to convert everyone to atheism. I would say that their form of atheism is a religion, and so they would be religious, as devotedly as they try to spread atheism.
Just my thoughts. Peace!

this question has been asked before. Many, many times.
re·li·gious(r-ljs)
adj.
1. Having or showing belief in and reverence for God or a deity.
2. Of, concerned with, or teaching religion: a religious text.
3. Extremely scrupulous or conscientious: religious devotion to duty.
n. pl. religious
A member of a monastic order, especially a nun or monk.
Nope, no atheists in there.
We are here for varied reasons, some of which may include spirituality (that's not religious btw), to learn, to squash misconceptions, to discuss important issues like separation of church and state, and to have fun.

I can only say that this particular atheist is very philosophical. That's why the truth is so important to me. Even after I began to think of myself as an atheist at age nine, I still continued to search for spirituality. I've tried to accept many different faiths, but found all to be contaminated by ignorant superstition. I've read the Book of Mormon. I've spent hours in a native American's sweat lodge. I've tried numerous different psychedelic drugs. I've fasted for days at a time. I've chanted with Buddhists for hours. I've read the Bible word for word and cover to cover, which positively convinced me I can never be a Christian. I've prayed many, many times. I've stood on my head for hours. I understand that God exists in a believer's subjective experience. Nothing I have done has ever convinced me that God has a tangible existence in objective reality, or that it is possible for Him to manipulate our universe in any meaningful way. That is why I remain an atheist.

I am an atheist. If you think we are religious, please tell me which god we worship.
I thought that anyone who has an interest in religion or spirituality are welcome to be here at Yahoo! Answers R&S.
Are you under the impression that only religious people come here?

No, I can honestly say I'm not religious. Just interested that"s all. I"m interested in history as well, but I would"t like to go back and live in the past.

Atheists are here to try and get the theocrats and fundamentalists to realize that real spirituality has nothing to do with the self-centered desire to live forever with some Sky Daddy.
