THIS is what it comes down to: our minds/brains have the ability to create. Our IQ's dictate the power of our abilities to create and think. This world and life will be whatever we create it to be. If you want to think in God's ways and create in positive ways, earth can go from a natural wilderness state into a more hospitable, kinder, better place for us and our kids.
If you want to create in godless ways, or even satanic ways, this world will become a rotten hellhole full of no respect of life, and mental illness, deceit, murder, and basically resemble a hell on earth.
We all have the power to choose and create for either good or evil, or somewhere in between.
If you think about it, even video games are creations. So are cars, the clothes you wear, everything. Just ask yourself if it's a creation for the greater good, greater evil, or somewhere in between.
THAT my friend is what I think of god and the opposite.
I think if religions tried to explain that more clearly, rather than "evil spirits or good spirits" control our own will, and that we will either burn in hell or get glory in heaven, and promote FEAR,.....this "god" concept would be much more accepted.
GOD is a positive thing, even those who don't believe, should realize that "god" was never intended to confuse, scare, or make people's lives suck and be unfulfilling out of the fear that they're going to go to hell.
It's religion's fault for presenting "god" and spirituality in such a fearful and unnaproachable way.
In the end, "god and spirituality," are meant to help you , and help you create a better life for yourself and the world around you.
Look at your own life and then look at the world around you.
Do you like what you see? Or do you find fault?
Well, if you don't like what you see with many things, it's because those things have been "created" by ungodly ways and thoughts.
There's your answer right there.
Are christians believing in the ridiculous? no.
But has the bible been written/presented in a hard-to-get way? yes.
Has religion been difficult? yes.
there are many faults within religions and christians, etc, and it's hard for the "general public" with not so high of an IQ to really grasp religion and god,
but its REALLY meant for the greater good, even if that's not apparent.
Only those of the truth can begin to understand/comprehend and realize it when they hear it or see it.
The saved have the power of discernment.
HOWEVER, it is the chritian's job and people who are "found" to try to HELP the lost, or the unbelievers.
Just because people can't grasp God's word, does NOT mean that they should not be helped.

No not at all. I already accepted Christ. And those that accept Christ have the gifts that aid in discerning the things of this world and the things of God. The ridiculous are spots on a leopard - easily recognizable.
In the relative anonymity of the forum, someone can be affected by a believer's statements, which may or may not lead to true conviction and repentence. I just pray that their inner spirit will rise over their fleshly unbelief. But I learned in my walk with Christ that the strongest of all flesh (ie. unbelievers accumulated knowledge, wealth, fame, pride, arrogance) is no match for God's Spirit that breathes in all of us, as long as our faith in Him remains constant and unrelenting in humility (1 Thes 5:8-9 KJV).
Knowing this, I get a full night's sleep everyday.

That's ridiculous. Are you listening to yourself?
If "God" wants everyone to believe in Him and have faith in Him, then why would He write up his word is "mysteries" so that only a few people could understand it? And where in the Bible does it say that "God" wrote up his word in mysteries so that only the few select could understand it? That's something that you completely made up. (Yes, I know the Bible calls unbelievers fools, but of COURSE it's going to say that! The authors want people to believe what they TELL them to believe, so part of the brainwashing process is to insult those who don't buy into their nonsense.)

What are you talking about?
YOU are writing in mysteries.
The only thing I think is ridiculous is the basic belief in a being living outside the universe and controlling things here on earth. I mean, if you just got here from Planet XTron, and found that Earth adults all believe in a mystical, invisible, timeless entity in the sky, wouldn't you think they were crazy?
I think Jesus was probably a very spiritual man with a good lead on zen behavior, but to associate all that with the mystical figure is what is ridiculous.

Jesus told us not to call any man a fool. He also said 'In whatever way you judge others, so too will you be judged'. It really does not do the reputation of Christianity a lot of good and does not really give glory to God, to stoop to name calling. Remember we are sinners too and it's only by God's grace and grace alone that we are acceptable to Him.

Nice going on the mysteries. That is true for when you see god and have a personal relationship with God and Christ then the vale is lifted and you will know all things in truth. For God Will tell you all things in truth. Which the world and mans church dose not have even today. So search for God and Christ and get out of mans church you will be better off.

For all instense and purposes that is true. That is why Jesus often spoke in parables confusing many and rebuffed people. (pushing them away)
He was testing their resolve, their heart, their character, their motives, and their love for God and he.
