There are many "Palestinians" still living in Israel as citizens with full rights. Isn't it strange that the Palestinians who left to fight with other countries against Israel were not allowed to stay in the countries they fought with? Why are Palestinians living in Lebanon called refugees? If they fought with the Lebanese, why weren't they granted citizenship? None of the Arab nations allowed the Palestinians to remain in their countries after the war. Why don't they take some responsibility for the so-called refugees?

the literature abounds Israeli and non Israeli explaining the academic consensus that the Israeli Army expelled the Palestinian population by going door to door and intimidating the residents.
Many call this 'ethnic cleansing'. If you would like to see a debate on the issue i recommend two:
The Dershowitz-Chomsky debate and the Scholomo Ben Ami-Norman Finklestein debate. They are audiovisual and can be found in Chomsky.info and in DemocracyNow.org
If you have more questions on the matter please post them.
I know of many links and authors Israeli, Jewish, Arab and American who see no debate around the issue of who caused the Palestinian to leave and how.
While it is true that many left during the Arab War, this does not take away from the fact that the Indigenous population of palestine was evicted to make way for an ONLY Jewish state.
I am no antisemite and happen to come from a jewish family (I even spent many sabbath in temple, although I also spent many a sunday in church). Truth is real jews want to dissasoiciate themselves from the Naqba (catastrophe) incurred on the Palestinian people.
Edit: Ronin, I agree with you. By no means do those people who exploit the Palestinians in order to exacerbate the hate on Israel deserve any degree of sympathy. But remember the role of the US in keeping all of those tyrants in power, be they Saudi, Iraqi, Iranian, Lebanese, Egyptian... hate for the US did not spring out of a vacuum, it was hard earned.
Blessed are the peacemakers....

No, the Arabs are the ones that forced the palestinians out of their countries and forced them to Israel. Israel is only protecting what it rightfully theirs.
Black September, some 10 to 20 thousand palestinians were killed by Jordan the rest escaped and went to Israel.
Israel has been around for over 3000 years and the palestinians have yet to become a people. Most of them are from Syria, Egypt and Jordan and those countries kicked them out too.

not directly, the palestian refugees are those who were living there at the time of the attacks by the other muslim countries to try to wipe isreal out. They were the ones who ran away instead of helping to fight off the invaders, basically they were cowards and traitors. Once they saw that isreal had things well in hand and was actually making a livable homeland out of a wasteland they came crawling back begging for handouts. Kind of like the tories back in the american revolution, trying to live off of other peoples hard work.

No, it was the declaration of war of several Arab nations against Israel in 1948 that caused the refugee problem.
If those nations had not attacked Israel then their would have been no war that those Palestinians had to flee from.

NO really with the help of there fearless leaders from the past such as Yesar Arifat they could well be on there way to having there own little piece of Real Estate they could call there own in the Middle east. But back during the Clinton Era he was offered everything probably including the kitchen sink but he left the table unwilling to take the deal. What they want is to drive the Jewish people into the Ocean killing every last 1 there by taking over the entire Country of Israel...

It was the 1st major part of the problem yes.
Of course, they are surrounded by sympathetic countries that are some of the richest in the world with huge areas of undeveloped land, and yet the palestinians remain "refugees". Isn't that odd?

user-friendly. The land replaced into uninhabited wilderness. The powers that be, on the time (yeah, like something has replaced) have been intensely anti-semitic. They needed the "jew undertaking" solved so as that they accumulated those people up and shoved them on what quantities to a reservation. via problematical paintings, determination and not somewhat help from america, the jews grew to become that wilderness into top actual materials. It replaced into in user-friendly terms after the jews worked the land that arabs confirmed any pastime in any respect in residing there. Many arabs immigrated to Israel and have been welcomed and given complete citizenship. because it grew to become user-friendly that Israel replaced into to alter right into a significant capability interior the middle east, their Islamic friends desperate to exterminate them. In an wonderful betrayel, the arab electorate of Israel fled, hoping to take jewish land and possessions as quickly as they have been all murdered. The jews kicked the asses of the integrate muslim armies and pushed into the encompassing section as a DMZ. They offered to return those lands in substitute for a peace treaty and have been refused. That refusal keeps to on the instant time and technically, Israel is in a state of conflict with its friends. an engaging area observe is that Egypt finally DID make peace with Israel. it particularly is chief on the time, Sadot, replaced into murdered for it. That tells you something approximately the place the muslims are coming from. there are in user-friendly terms a handful (like a pair hundred) of the old Israeli arabs left exterior Israel. maximum have died of old age. So, how come there are 1000's of arabs in Gaza and the West monetary employer? because of the fact they have progressively been filtering down there from Jordan and different international places, for no different reason than to make conflict on Israel. In an wonderful act of gall, they declare precise of return.

1. some history:
when the jewish state of israel was only forming, prior to 1948, there was no 'palestinian' state. true, some of the lend of (currently) Isreal was settled by arabs, but many of those willingly sold parts of their lands to the jewish settlers (all of this prior to the 'state of israel', when the UK was still in control of those lands),and many other settlers started building their towns on lands that weren't occupied at all because they were considered unhabitable due to lack of water, swamps etc. its important to note that most of the jewish population of that time only wanted to live here in peace, as did a significant portion of the arab population as well. who fed the flames of hate were the arab neigbor leaders, who, due to their political inspirations didn't want for the state of isreal to be.
a single day after the withdrawal of the English from the land of Israel, and the proclamation of the state of Israel, the one-day-old state faced an invasion coming from all of it's arab neigbors. the arab leaders leading this military invasion promised the local arab population (that of Isreal, I mean) that they will quickly irradicate all of the jewish population and the arabs will have all of the land, including all of the newly built israelly towns and settlements. as this seemed very likely at that time, the local population left their houses in order to avoid being accidently caught in the tidal wave of the arab invasion, knowing that they will be able to return to their houses (or even better, the much newer jewish towns' houses) only a few days or weeks later.
we all know that it didn't happen. the state of Isreal repelled the arab invasion, god knows how (no real IDF back then...). the (formal) local arab population demanded of the arab leaders, who promised them all of the land and now left them without homes, a solution. those leaders told them that its only a matter of time until the land of Israel returns to arab hands, and meanwhile offered them to settle in several refugee camps on the west bank. this 'only matter of time' drags on to our days, which links us to the current events:
2. current status:
most of the jewish population of Israel only wants to live in peace, and will happily accept an agreement that says that Isreal returns to the 1967 borders, Palestine get a country on all of their current territory ("occupied territories" for most of you) and all hostility between the two states ends forever.
among the arab population the views are different. true, there are some who will accept the agreement mentioned above, but many yet think that all of the Israeli land should be 'freed' - meaning the removal of the state of Israel completely and claiming all of its current territory. who feed those views are yet again the current leaders of the Palestinian terrorist groups, some out of true belief in their couse, but most out of understanding the fact that if such agreement is to be accepted they will loose all of their personal power and status.
