alright...so im 13, almost 14.
my summer project this year is to redo/repaint my room.
right now, two of my walls are bright yellow and the other two are blue.
they're good colors but im really getting bored with it.
i would like a room with NO PASTELS!!
...im not really a big fan of pink.
i guess you could say im pretty mature for my age.
i want a room that i can feel relaxed in...but colorful enough that if i had a few friends over, we'd be able to party!!! =].
im kinda into 80's music, hiphop, alternative...if that gives you any ideas.
my room is farely small...and i have a twin sized bed.
my favorite colors are blue, orange, a redish pinkish color, yellow, purple, black....idk i like all colors lol.

im open to any answers!!!!!

Ok if your room is small then it wouldn't be a good idea to paint a dark color on the walls it will only make your room look smaller. have you thought about painting 3 walls white and then one wall orange or whatever other color you pick? and then getting funky pillows in all different colors. and using sheets and blankets and pillows to add more color to your room. i'm older than you are (i'm 27), but my room has 2 white walls and then 2 walls are green (walls go white, green, white, green), and i have a very funky ceiling its checkerboarded with the white and green lol, the walls were that way when we got the house. Go to Home Depot or Lowes and look in the paint section and get an idea of what color you like and also they have cards there with ideas for how to paint a room and some show what the colors look like on the walls and how they go together. Good luck!! Have fun painting!

Do a light color on your wall (small spaces become smaller with dark colors) like maybe the blue on two walls and purple (not pastels but not too deep) on the opposite two walls. Of course the colors have to look good together. Then get coordinating bedding that has all of your favorite colors and use pillows to add accents. My 13 year olds room is bright pink and lime green on the walls and bright orange bookcase, lime green dish chair, dark purple pillow accents and plastic containers, and a black bedspread (her room is fairly big, though!). And she has various fabrics that have all different designs on them, but her curtains and bedding are solid colors.

Good luck!

Whatever you pick make sure you use some Killz brand primer to block out the precious color. Otherwise you will spend a lot of time putting on more coats of paint to block out the old color. I recommend you go with the latex primer for ease of use and easy clean up

I like blue and brown. Like maybe two walls pale blue and two walls a chocolate brown? Or even the chocolate brown with a sage green? I really love those colors together, they look very sophisticated! Good luck! :)

With maroon carpet, you could try doing a Moroccan style or near-East style (think desert, tents, lamps etc) with wonderful saris and drapes and lots of pillows in colors that will complement the carpet since it is the one color you can't change.
