Ok, so we moved into our house......the kitchen countertops are a burnt orange (think University of Texas orange). Ugly! Since we don't have the money to replace the countertops at the moment, I'm going to live with it for now, but I need a kitchen theme that will make the orange countertops fit in. (By the way, the cabinets are white)

You might want to consider tiling over the counter tops (cheaper than replacing). But if you can't, I would go with a culinary theme using various foods as your inspiration (greens and reds from peppers, aplles, etc., yellows and not too much more orange from citrus and bananas). I would paint your walls a neutral color to down play the orange, and I think I would also paint the cabinets, since the white is probably making the orange seem even brighter. An earthy brown would be good for that.

You could even play up various browns and go for a coffee theme. Basically use Earthy tones to down play the orange.

Unless you are a wild and bright person then use a lot of bright colors and don't have a theme. Just be eclectic.

You should definitely use unique drawer pulls and handles on your cabinets either way.

Good luck!!

You didn't say what your style is? Country, contemporary? Well, if you're country, roosters are a good decorating theme for orange. If you're more contemporary, I would play off with golds, fabric and decor. You could also tie in some browns and beige and not do any more with orange. The brown and beige would match, but not add too much focus on the orange. Good luck on your new home! :)

You could decorate in lemons...in different tones of yellow.

Or you can go with a tuscany feel. You could paint the cabinets and do a distressed look to them, or glaze them: such as this:
