In the last few days, my hamster has been developing some strange habits. For example, whenever she climbs the tubing to her crittertrail cage, she bites the plastic when she enters, bites the plastic tubing when she's inside, and bites it when she exits. Also, she bites her wheel.. She hops into it, then runs for a mere few seconds, then begins to gnaw at the edges of it. She's like clock work. I just don't know if this is normal behavior.

Let me reasure you this is very normal behaviour for a hamster, Their teeth never stop growing and need to be consently ground down, so they will chew anything.

I have had my hamster a year and he will chew anything in, and around his cage sometimes. and yes, the tubes, and sometimes the entrance to his sleeping quarters. You have nothing to worry about at all.

If you have'nt already, buy a cereal chew stick from your pet store to hang in the cage for her to chew on, and also some wooden blocks, also available from all pet stores.

This it normal...hamsters need to chew to keep their teeth shortish so that they dnt hurt the inside of their mouth, try giving your hamster soom wood chunks from the pet show which she can chew and also give her some shew sticks..they will previde her with a treat, good fun and healthy teeth

:D

yes this is normal that's why I don't like those cages as they end up being chewed through and you little fuzz ball is loose in the house.
So you have thing in the cage for her to know on this is very important as hamster teeth never stop growing and they need to gnaw on things to keep them filed down
but again VERY NORMA
