My English Bulldog was ran over 2 weeks ago and is unable to see. The right eye was the worst and probably won't recover. Is there any hope that her eyesight will return in the other eye?

We did take the dog to the vet immediately and he said we would have to wait until the swelling went down before he could tell. I'm taking her back to the vet this week. I was just wandering if it was possible for her to get her eyesight back. Thanks everyone!

What does the vet think? It's impossible for me to give you an answer when I don't know what kind of damage was done. Only your vet can determine if he thinks it will come back or not. Poor Dog:( Even if his eyes don't regain eyesight he'll adapt and will still be a very loving dog. Good Luck

It depends which part of the eye was damaged, and how badly as to whether or not he will regain his eyesight.

I take it you took the dog to a vet? They will be the best person to give you a prognosis, we on here don't even know what the injury was.

I'm so sorry for your Bulldog. My Pembroke Welsh Corgi had this exact same thing happen last year. His eye turned completely blue for about 2 weeks, and then gradually his eye turned brown again. I have been taking him to the vet about every month to check on his eye and she said his eye will very slowly heal, and he can probably see a little bit and he can recognize light. It's just a long slow process. The Vet prescribed drops that are for cataracts, and they seem to help too. Also 2 weeks of anti-biotics were given in case of infection.
My Corgi is still his crazy, independent self, he just is a little more lovable now. Best of luck to you and your Bulldog.

Anything is possible. Can you cover up her good eye and see if she appears to see out of the other eye? Put an eye patch on it if you have one around from a costume party or eye doctor, etc. Or make one. Put a string on something around the house that has a curve to it; similar to an eye patch. A string that stretches would do better.
Hope her eye sight is going to be okay.

you can try and get your dog to track objects such as a favorite toy. Try closer and farther. As for the people making jokes about dogs wearing glasses I DID put glasses on my poor old blind dog and he was able to see a few things on the floor. it's certainly NOT funny.
