She may need a different medication,
you can treat scabes with oral medicine, injectable medicine, dips, or monthly tropicals (revolution) some work better in some cases than others..
It is also possible you need medicine for the itching and antibiotics for the secondary skin infection.. Scabes is extremely itchy for your dog,, and it might take a week or so to see a response from the treatment.. But you may be able to do something else to her feel better..
Call your vet.. and see what can be done, or if additional treatment is needed..

How about you give the vet a ring and tell them the treatment isn't working? They prescribed it, they'll want to know! If they don't hear from you, of course they'll presume the condition has cleared up!

Ask the vet if the fur needs to be trimmed. I'm sure they would've told you if this was the case.

Who is doc? Hopefully a vet. If you haven't seen a vet you should for it may be mange. If she is not reacting good from treatment then call your doc back and ask him that question. If he is a vet he should answer your question on the phone without a visit if you have already seen him.

You could, but the dog may act out some being in a new place and being left alone so soon.It would be better if you or a trusted neighbor could let the dog out at lunch hour..

you can also add supplements like dermatrix, solid gold's sea meal or nupro, all helps boost the immune system and help the dog recover. did the doc give you special shampoo like sybolese? use the special shampoo, medicated ones and remember to leave in the shampoo as stated by the doc or the bottle. so far seameal and dermatrix worked in helping my dog recover from mange and eczema. definately need to shave your goldie completely for her to heal faster.

If she is licking herself then yes it will spread. Asky your vet for an e-collar so she cant irritate the area and allow it to heal. This is very irritating for your Golden so please ask your vet for something to reduce her itching also.

Good Luck with your Golden Girl!
