I'll give you a list of denominations, and you tell me which one is most correct. The choices are: Greek Orthodox, Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, Presbyterian Church USA, or the Southern Baptist Convention

Orthodox is the closest... but they aren't Christ's church. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Christ's Church.

I know for myself and you can too! :)

If a church claims it is denominational the theology is put forward in an eccentric declaration, thus disqualifying itself from being Biblical. No denomination is fully Biblical as the church is an organism not an organization. Once incorporated the Spirit tends to be quenched. The methodists in the 18th C and 19th C probably got as close as they could. The Greek orthodox has priests - after Jesus there is no need for priests of male or female gender. The Misouri Synod is Pharisaic and having been banned from communion by them I can tell you judgement of others is a central plank whereas the Bible says "let a man examine himself" (his own conscience) before taking communion. The Presbyterians are closer in church governance and the SBC is a convention of churches. The only real church is the meeting of people who are of the same spirit and who do not want to control everyone else. I suppose that doesn;t answer your question so in order to answer it because your choices are limited I will say the Baptists. But then you have to ask which denomination expresses the most love for non members. THAT is the real test.

I see that you are listing some of the more conservative/orthodox denominations. Presbyterian Church of America is the more orthodox church between them & PC-USA (which has a low view of Scripture) that you listed. Did you mean PCA?

If so, all of these have a high view of Scripture, but I would suggest you look at the doctrinal views of each church carefully & critically. I'm a life long LCMS Lutheran, but I grew up with diverse friends: from Mormon's & Jehovah's Witnesses, to Roman Catholics & PC-USA members. In college I had athiest, agnostic, Greek Orthodox & Pentecostal friends. I spent 3.5 years in Japan among some Japanese Christians, some athiest, some Buddhist/Shinto. Over the last few years I have gotten to know one former missionary that served in the same program as we did, that has converted to the Russian Orthodox church. My husband & I even attended a "so-called" LCMS church who as a whole didn't believe & practice what they claimed to. My point is that God has taught me a lot.

It's only by grace that God has kept me in the faith. Even though we had a difficult time with an LCMS church, I find its doctrine to be truly Biblical down to every detail. After being involved in Bible Study Fellowship International (an interdenominational Bible study) I'm just getting into reading the official doctrine of the LCMS myself & I'm seeing how helpful it is in teaching me how to discern how God's Word can be twisted to mean what we want it to mean (it's human nature). I can help you a little with what those other denominations teach because I've had to learn a little, but much more with what the LCMS teaches.

I know that the Orthodox Church does not believe in the Invisible Church--that translates into the idea that they believe they are the only people that will be saved according to their membership in that church. This is not Biblical.

I know that the Southern Baptist Convention will confess "by grace through faith", but they leave out the all essential ALONE. They deny the idea of universal grace--that is that Christ's sacrifice is fully sufficient for the salvation of EVERYONE. Instead, they believe that Jesus died only for the elect. Because Jesus sacrifice is not sufficient for everyone, then they turn back (as subtle as it may seem) to works righteousness believing that it is their responsibility to "confess Christ with their mouth" & "believe in their heart that He is Lord". They also deny the real presence of Christ in the Sacrament of Communion. Neither of these is Biblical.

If you really mean the PC-USA, they simply have a low view of Scripture which is not Biblical. If you mean the PCA, they also subscribe to TULIP (like Baptists I believe) which lead to the same errors as I stated above. (LCMS Lutherans agree with the T of TULIP, but consider the rest to be anti-Biblical).

If you're serious about learning the different doctrines of these churches (good luck with Orthodox--as far as I can tell it's endless), I can help you on the LCMS side of things. CPH (LCMS's publishing company) has just come out with a $20 Reader's Edition of The Lutheran Confessions called "Concordia: The Lutheran Confessions: A Reader's Edition of the Book of Concord". I found it more helpful than the bare boned edition online (www.lcms.org >Belief & Practice >Lutheran Confessions) because it has brief histories prior to each document that puts them in historical context.

It really is fascinating all that these people went through. They got it from all sides the Romans, the Protestants, even from within & by God's grace they responded with balance & most of all miraculously without compromising God's Word.

Your question gives you the source of your answer.

Search the Scriptures to see which church teaches the truth! (Acts 17:11)

There are good things about each denomination you have listed. There is also error among the churches in this list.

The best thing, instead of a denomination, find a church that has as its goal to leave behind all man-made denominational doctrine, names, methods of worship, and organization in order to return to the Bible as the source of doctrinal authority!

Find a church that wishes to speak where the Bible speaks, be silent where the Bible is silent, do Bible things in Bible ways, and call Bible things by Bible names!

To learn of such a church, click on this link and watch the 6-lesson video Bible study. (Be sure to compare everything to the Bible!)

Greek Orthodox. But, even this group has deviated from following each and every Bible instruction. Ditto for Orthodox Jews and the Jewish Bible (aka Old Testament).

Take your pick, each has good and bad points due to the religious dogma they profess to follow. I believe the best denomination is no denomination. Chruches that follow sound scriptural doctirnes without interjecting manmade traditions, hollow repetitive rituals, and create guilt in believers is the true church.

EVERY church denomination thinks that they are the best and most bibically sound. My suggestion to you is to search the Bible for yourself and compare and test each church's beliefs to the Bible, then decide for yourself who follows the Bible the most closely.
God Bless, I'll be praying for you!
