Rid America of the power of Bush-Cheney and all of the Bush Cheney cronies. Then I'd bring home the troops.

Then I'd hire Chuck Norris to go find Osama Bin Laden!

Reform the election finance system and take the special intresrts and money out of it. No candidate for office can spend any more money on an election than those running against them for the same office. If an individual or interset wishes to produce their own advertisement in support of a candidate the would be requires to donate that amout of funds to opposing campaigns. In line with this all current politicians will be barred from running in the next election for their seat. Insure a constitutional referendum to move many of the things the federal goverment does to the states where the responsibilities should be. Eliminate most federal agencies.
And from reading some of the previous answers require people to educate themselves on world and national affairs, it's just really pathetic how many people are truly ignorant of what is going on in the world and how the world work.

Then resign.
Like has been said before power corrupts,absolute power corrupts absolutely.

From reading previous answers we can see how selfish, shallow and naive our society has become.

I will withdraw troupes from Iraq and Afghan. Call for a meeting with all the world leaders to find out a way to bring back peace not only in those two country but all over the world. Give legal status to all the illegal immigrants. Reduce the military spending but continue the research in all including the military one. Make friends with China, India and Russia. Take away my support to Musharraf of Pakistan. Monitor all the MNC's and control the price. Appoint a special committee to find out all the problems faced by poor country and give them a hand in solving it. While I am holding the power, I will develop America and also help other nation to be developed like America. I would also establish a human colony in Moon and beyond.
What I won't be doing is, I will never have sex with any one in my office, I will not talk about things which are not there- Example Weapon of Mass destruction.

Absolute power? Ohhh scary. Fact is no one has that son. It may feel like the current administration is at time's but we still have a system of check's and balances. If anyone managed to do that my guess is they would do what other despot's through history have done. First execute or imprison anyone who disagrees with them. Then make themselves such a world wide pest they would eventually be overthrown. We are not at that point yet. Just exercise your right to vote in the next election.

Have a private/secret meeting w/ Irans President, and a whole different meeting w/ Israel,Britain, and Iraq ); tell Irans President (Sorry, cant spell his name) that the US will pull out of Iraq but he has to take absolute control of it by the time they do. And annunce a little plan to Britain, Israel, and Iraq.

Iran sends the majority of their Military out of the country into Iraq, and once they do we have Israel go head on into Iran. Britain (Israel would do it for sure, not sure about Britain) could come into Iran through the North. (Both blowing any Nuclear Sites as they cross the border). But both countries wait to invade until Iran has its forces spread throughout Iraq. Once Iran does so, and once Britain and Israel cross the border into Iran; the Iraqi Forces the the US had hiding, scattered around Bahgdad come out and take the capital. (Purley Iraqi Forces, led by US Forces and when I say led by I mean commanded by). The US Navy and Air Force target any Iranian Forces in bulk in an area. Once the bombing is done, and Iran is making its way back to the Iranian border trying to defend their country; the US Ground Forces are waiting for them about 45 miles from the border.

So w/ British/Israeli forces invading a country w/ little defense, the Iraqis finally getting some self esteem that they did something and fought for their country, no more Iranian threat, and no more Iranian influence on Iraq; mission accomplished.

Abolish the welfare system, IRS and redundant bureaucracies within the government (IE: keep the Justice Department and eliminate the Dept of Homeland Security, Bureau of ATF, DEA...). That alone would save Billions. Then I would step down because absolute power corrupts absolutely.

Keeping in mind the actions of those who had it throughout history, and what their ultimate fate was, and that of the nations that they were in charge of. There is only one thing I could do. I would make sure that every American had health care coverage. The way things stand currently, health care professionals (this is just MY opinion) don't TRULY care about healing and helping...the only thing they want to know is if you have money to pay them. If you have money, they will see you and if you do not, they won't have the time of day for you. I think health care should be a HUMAN right and not one based on ones ability to pay for it or not.

I would put tariffs on american companies shipping american jobs out of the country. I would go after Large insurance companies for making insurance coverage outrageous and not covering a blessed thing. I would make sure that the "little guy" was being treated the way "he" should be. I would make things easier for single mothers by offering better government benifits to them. And I would definitley work on americas school systems. And I'm also sick and tired of our countries lazy police forces! I would also work w/american farmers to help create soybean gasoline supplements to help lower gas prices and help the agricultural community. Remember farmers are struggling w/o them we don't eat! And in closing I would bring all our troops home!
