Scientists have worked out every second of evolution up to 0.-1 seconds. The - stands for 43 0s.How can someone who has no religion say that there is no way that God created the big bang, the event that led to the creation of the Earth and the solar system. Scientists still after 1000s of years do not know and it says in the bible that humans can't comprehend God so doesn't that mean that it is possible that the cause was God? It fits in with causation.
I have been learning about this in physics, from someone with a physics degree and does not believe in creation and I do not take everything in the bible literally. And also why do atheists have to prove that God exists, if religion raises money for charty (christian aid, islamic reliefe etc.), brings peole comfort and brings together communities. Then what is wrong with it as it has nothing o do with you. I am interested to hear other peoples views but please do not criticise any religions and I will not judge or criticise you.

I also have 1 religous parent and 1 atheist parent so I am not biast and brainwashed. I have seen both sides of the argument.

There's no way God created the big bang.
The Scientific Method is not thousands of years old.
Religions do a lot more than just give to charity, and some of us happen to believe they do a great deal of damage, so it is to do with us if we feel that religion is part of the problem.

I agree. I think that religion hold it's meaning for an individual. Some people need to feel certain things about creation. I am partial to the belief of science and religion. There was once an argument that the millions of years that it took for us to evolve from nothing could be divided into 6 very specific categories. Six days of creating over millions of years and God rested on the seventh day.
Why can't it be both? Why can't religious people suspend their literal minded beliefs that every single word written in the Bible must be translated exactly. There are many different versions of the same book.
Also, any time I start to worry about civilization I remember that the ancient Romans also believed in higher beings. We look back at their stories and laugh.

Since you have cosmology and evolution confused, forgive me if I don't take your word for the rest of your claims. Your history's a bit shaky too.
I don't need to prove that 'God' exists or doesn't. I can see how Christianity divides, conquers and hurts people. The religious right has made sure that their beliefs influence my life, even when I'm not resident in the U.S.
You're looking at a very small part of what your religion does. I'm looking at the bigger picture.

You misunderstand. Atheists do not care about god at all. There is no need to prove that she exists or not. As far as charity is concerned, many people killed by followers of religion do not care about charity that comes with major strings attached.

i'll ask you something? even if it was proven that supernatural forces were at work,how can anyone be sure which God it was? after all you don't have any proof outside of the bible to say that it was the biblical God do you?
the God that answers your prayers might be Ra or Krishna for all you know....also,may be it's not just ONE God,how can you tell for sure?
may be for each different TYPE of prayer (like when you pray if a loved one is really sick,and when you pray before an important exam) is answered by a God that is specialized in that area....how can you know for SURE?
