.... that when society over comes some religious ideas its called progress?? When religion takes over government we have the exact opposite of progress.

True progress is an advancement that is embraced by everyone. Religion does a very good job of discriminating against those that don't agree with them and creating unnatural division amongst the people. When a society acts outside of religion, it tends to leave that discrimination behind and include everyone.

The day religion totally and completle takes over Gov't in the USA is the day I leave this country for good. All the blood spilled over the centuries would be thrown in our face and they would have died in vain. It makes me sick that they have managed as far as they have. There is seperation of Church and State for a reason.

Yes, thats when we regress, or backslide. Canada, in the last few years has tumbled right off the best ten contries to live. It used to be number two I think. I don't know if it was religion, or our politicians taking on a distinctly American flavor.
