Me and my boyfriend have now been dating 5 and 1/2 weeks. All in most, I think It's a great relationship. What bothers me is he always wants to go to karoake. It's of coarse late every night, and some times the other singers are pretty bad. I'll admit he has an awesome voice. If I go with him when we get back it is so late and I'm tired, so that throws that night's sex life outta the picture. Besides, from my health I can't stay up late much anyway. I feel like we had an awesome day, but that night he wants to end with him singing at a bar. He doesn't drink, but what about me? Can't it just be me and my man at home spending some time instead of hearing blazing music, seeing people get drunk, and getting tired?

A relationship shouldnt only be about sex
forget having it for one night and go out with him
have fun even if you think your not going to once your out and about you will enjoy yourself - if you dont want to go let him go alone

First of all, since your relationship with your boyfriend is only 5 1/2 weeks old, you should sit him down & talk to him about this before it becomes a serious problem. You obviously want to do other things with him and go to other places. Explain that to him. You're not being selfish by doing this because you're not telling him that you won't go to karaoke with him. Maybe you can get him to agree to going for karaoke 2 or 3 nights a week instead of every night? That way you 2 can plan other activities and maybe actually learn more about each other. Good luck.

tell him exactly what you have just said and let him know that it is getting you down and you need to compromise here. Set certain number of times a week to go to the bar or a particular day(s) where you both just spend time with eachother and nothing else. Spice it up so it sounds like something he is going to look forward to also...

You'll have to compromise. I should tell him to go to karaoke by himself and spend a few nights a week with you.

John, I enjoy being with you, but I am not comfortable in karaoke bars. If you want to see me, you need to accept that. Otherwise, we can just be friends.
