Please take your dog to the vet to find out what kind of infection he has and the best way to treat it.
Every infection is different and reacts to medication differently.
My dog has had an ongoing infection for 2 months now... I take him to the vet every 2 weeks so the vet can use a scope in his ear and with a monitor show me the "infection" on the computeer screen.
My dog doesn't shake his head, or paw at his ears.. I have no way of knowing what is going on unless I go to the vet.
For a while the ear got better, then it turned around and flared up again when we reduced his medication.
Please take your dog to the vet.
Most vets won't charge for revisits. Mine doesn't.
I do get charged a small fee ($12.00) for the "scoping" but not the normal $35.00 office fee.
Plus medication if i need more.
Please, visit your vet.

You can heal it by going to the vets to get the appropriate mediction.
If it is an actual infection, you need antibiotic ear drops which are not available over-the-counter. If they are just dirty you might be OK with an ear cleaner. There may also be ear mites present, so you need to get the ears checked out.

What kind of infection ? The vet can check for you and give you a proper diagnosis.. You can't treat an ear problem when you haven't a clue what the problem is.. If you treat for mites and it's a horrible infection then you are only going to make things worse..
Diagnose, then treat the problem, not the symptoms.

Go to the vet and get him on antibiotics. DO NOT attempt to self-medicate. You need a proper diagnosis - is it a yeast infection? Bacterial? Earmites? Even a foxtail in there? Not a DIY project. Bite the bullet and pay the bucks.

You need to take him to the vet to get ear drops, otherwise it can get a lot worse.
