Door person/Hostess - Checking patron identification, collecting entrance fees. (Does that sound rediculous?)

You are a hostess, or a maitre d' if it's a pretty upscale club. You greet patrons, check reservations and identification (you sometimes have parties with a guest list to check, right?), collect appropriate fees, and ensure patron security.

See? You can spin anything. :)

One starting point would be to use a title, such as hostess, or cashier. Your current position is a perfectly legal one, but door person, or ID checker do not sound very professional. Door person does however sound more professional than money taker. The point to accent is that you have done a regular job for 31/2 years and avoid negative statements about that job.

You don't have to mention that it's a strip club. Something like "security for nightclub" might work.

Hey, it's honest work you're doing.

Good luck.

Maybe you can pass it off as Security-that is what you are doing and identity something-identification processing
