Everywhere you look to find a deal on used it's and people are charging so much I might as well buy the thing new.
Is anyone else noticing this and frustrated with this? or the fact that they are even selling coupons you would normally get for free?

I look for deals and just can;t seem to fine any and I know people need money but if you want to sell something you bought new for 30 and then sell it used for 20 bucks I rather go get the new one!

I am seeing more of this at Goodwill and Salvation Army, too. I think that many people are buying stuff to re-sell in their flea markets, etc. so the stores figure that they might as well make the profit. Unfortunately, the low prices are now rising out of the reach of those truly in need of a bargain.

Garage sales? I agree. People are so hung up about how much they paid for an item that they want to ask more. I say...how much is it worth, stuffed in your closet? If the goal is to get rid of stuff, then sell it at a price that will be attractive to buyers. Otherwise, put it back in the garage and enjoy knowing that money was wasted on stuff that wasn't wanted/needed but is still to "valuable" to part with.

When I have a garage sale, it is to get rid of stuff. I don't want to have to haul it back into the house!

This frustrates me SOOOOO much!! The other day I went to a thrift store and they want 200 dollars for a used sofa with a stain on it. That was outrageous. Another thing is when people sell samples. The other day someone was trying to sell me some sample cereals that a company had placed on our fence the day before. I just looked at that person like they were crazy and shut the door with a polite no thank you. Some people will do anything to make a quick buck. If you really want someone to take something used off of your hands, be reseaonable.

I know. I always thought that a garage sale was a way to get rid of the stuff you don't want anymore without trowing it away. People these days seem to think they are running an antique and collectibles shop on their front lawn. If I wanted to pay the money they're asking I'd go to the mall.
Just smile and walk away.

you can't get anything for stuff at a garage sale around here.... i feel more the oposite, why does someone ask if they can give me a dime instead of fifty cents for a shirt.... I'm like are you f'in kidding me it's only fifty cents.... but i take it bcause i just want to get rid of it anyway.
there are somethings that i won't take less for... i would rather give it for free to someone who really needs it. If I have something that is in excellent condition and it was 30 dollars I don't think 20 is to much, if you don't want it, don't buy it, go buy the 30 dollar one.

we just looked around a lot and found decent garage sale deals--2 high chairs for $9-and etc. but the less used an item is, the more $ they want. have you looked at prices on new/used double strollers?! ridiculous. it's like they were never new parents starting out themselves! good luck!

Buying from yard sales, like buying antiques, is a choice. If I see something I want or "need", but do not like the price, I do not buy it. I don't have time to be outraged by people. If I did, I would never get anything done.

You have to go to the really small neighborhoods where the people there are getting absolutely NO customers, and they're so desperate to get rid of their stuff, so they practically give it away

If it bothers you to the point of making an entire thread about it ... dont visit those sites.

or if you still want to and then see a price that ridiculous, just learn to say "a**" and move on!
