There are few, if any areas of the world where clothing is optional in public places. There are beaches and camp areas that are set aside as clothing optional, but many of these are private, or semi-private areas with controlled access. There are still primitive peoples that wear little or no clothing, but even these people become somewhat modest when they attract outside attention. Clothing seems to be an integral part of civilization.

Most places require clothing. A few areas are set aside for clothing optional - like nudist camps or beaches. I also heard that some cruise ships are setting aside nude sun bathing areas on their decks.
