It takes a brain to have wisdom. So before man, there was no wisdom, unless you consider alien worlds perhaps.
I think what you are asking is why things interact like they do with apparent harmony. That's because things tend to settle into equilibrium. Two bodies flying by each other will either fly apart, crash, or go into orbit. All three cases represents a type of equilibrium and given the number of objects in the universe, it is not surprising to see all of it. Gravity pulls stars together and heat pushes them apart. Where they settle is an equilibrium.
