When Christians have followed through on the Bible, this is what they have accomplished:
They have put a value on human life, even from inception.
Christians have been in the forefront of reaching to feed, clothe and help the poor all over the world. Many churches had immediately sent volunteers to the disasters we've experienced lately.
It was Christians, not atheists, who started colleges and other institutions of higher learning. The original purpose of these universities were to educate and equip men and women to live their lives for Jesus.
The Christian founders of America have stamped their values in our Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Christian scientists have marveled at God's creation and deduced that God is law-giver and a God of order. So they have taken it upon themselves to discover what laws govern God's creation. Many, many discoveries of science come from Christians.
Christianity has had a huge impact on the work ethic.
It was Christians who established the first hotels and hospitals, based on care for strangers and compassion on the hurting.
So your judgment is quite unsound.

It would be such a horrible place.
I would much rather be living in this world where women are raped and sexually assaulted daily, where the usage of illegal drugs is rampant, where the AIDs epidemic is growing, where people in third world countries are dying of starvation, where the rich get richer and the poor sink deeper into poverty, where convicted peadophiles are allowed to walk the streets, where depression and suicide is at its highest and happiness is a lost vision.
(If you haven't noticed I am being sarcastic).

If we lived life to the letter according to the bible and all people did the same, religion would collapse, for if there was no evil in this world, there would be no point in preaching to people for we would already be following god's way, also god stays attentive to us to ensure we do not stray in to evil doings, if there were noone doing any thing evil god would be less attentive, if at all, as we would not have any thing to be protected against.
Without evil you cannot have good and without good you cannot have evil, the two come hand in hand and cannot be divided.

To be honest, I think we'd all be dead. The majority of wars that have happened throughout history have been religion-based. Although I hate to even say it, even the Iraq War has sparked unjust hatred of Muslims.

Not at all. Progress and growth are good. Greed isn't.
If we ALL believed and lived by God's word this world would last longer. But with the direction we are heading, God will soon tire of giving us chance after chance and will soon come for His church.
