That's a very good question for this time of year. As someone who has had to live without AC for a few years, I think I can speak with some authority.

1)Drink water and sports drinks such as Gatorade. LOTS of it.
2)If you have a cold drink, hold it against your pulse. That will cool the blood passing through.
3)Take cool showers. Not necessarily cold, but cool.
4)If it starts getting really hot, keep a tub of cool water to soak your feet in. And while this will look funny, it works: Wear ice packs or soaked frozen towels around your neck and head. That will do miracles for keeping you from overheating.
5)If you don't have an AC, sit a glass of iced water in front of a fan. That makes a great substitute!

Do your best to stay out of the heat as much as possible. Wear long sleeved white shirts, a hat with a big brim to keep sun off you, white or light colored pants, get as much shade as you can, keep yourself hydrated by drinking water, you can cool yourself by standing in front of a fan or getting in the shade or applying water to your ears, forehead, the back of your neck--as much of your body as possible. If its really hot put about 1 or 2 inches of cool water in a bath tub and lie there, that will drain the heat out of you gradually. Don't mess around with heat stroke, it can be very dangerous, just do your best to stay out of the heat.

Don't work in the hottest part of the day and drink lots of water if you have to and for short periods only, I was made to work in 44 degrees temps all day once with very little water, I collapsed twice then was made to continue working.I then passed out completely, I spent 8 days in hospital. I left that job shortly after with a nice payout.

Drink plenty of water or you're become dehydrated, stay away from direct sun - 10:00 am and 4:00pm, and use suncream if you need it, use a hat and swim with a T-shirt too.

Take breaks for water and sit in the shade. Hats always help, don't over do it or push yourself. Also wear white or lighter colors and avoid black or darker shades of clothing.

Don't spend excessive amounts of time in the sun, keep yourself well hydrated, remember to put on sunblock. You can try covering up parts of your body that are more prone to sun exposure with light clothing.
