I read in Matthew 7 verses 13 & 14 that there are two ways to go and one way is broad where many go that leads to destruction. The other way is narrow & leads to life but it says only a few will find that way.

How can I know if I'm on the right way or not?

What if I think I'm on the right way but really I'm on the broad way leading into destruction?
I mean, it says there are only a few finding the right way

Thanks for any sensible answers

Also, are all those who are on this right road in agreement with each other? In their beliefs?
If they don't believe the same - then how can it be down to how you live your life or your good actions in life?

Thanks for your answers.
Surely, just believing in Jesus and doing your best cannot ensure a person is on the right road otherwise the road wouldnt just have a few on it.
Dont most people do their best & a lot say they follow Jesus?
That's not a few but a lot.

Do you know conviction of sin in your life?

Have you been shown your only hope of salvation in Jesus Christ?

Have you received the gifts of repentance and faith toward God?

It also says :

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:
And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.
My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.
I and my Father are one.

Do you hear His voice?

And more to the point do you obey it?

The broad and narrow way is described in the Sermon on the mount, Matt 5-7. Do you understand that passage and are you what is described there? Do you hear Him in that passage?

If you follow Jesus you will sooner or later experience the cross in your life, indeed are called upon to take it up - And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.

Do you know what this means? This will separate those on the broad way from those on the narrow way that leads to life.

This is where many fail.

We are called to live in complete dependence upon our Saviour, upon God, as Christ also did nothing of Himself but only as the Father showed Him and provided for Him.

Are you on that path?

How do you not know if you are on the narrow way since it excludes all others?

There is only one way. Don't look at men, that will confuse, look to God, He will show you, through His word, The Bible.

Hi!

The fact that you are asking this question at all shows you are on the right path - for if you seek you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you.

Few find the way because most people associate their identity in the organism that their true self is housed in, so get caught up in feeding the desires of the organism: greed, power, lust. Love recognises that there is a spark of eternity in everyone, and the staring point is realising that about yourself that you may love others as you love yourself. This is not selfishness - but the breakthrough to realising the connectedness of everything - which faith has known for centuries and science has relatively recently discovered.

Do not be afraid. Accept yourself as the piece of the universe you are - a universe within a universe surrounded by kin spirits.

It was said of Schindler: "Who saves a single soul saves a world". Become the world you are and you will go on to help others also discover their true worth.

Good wishes.

Matthew 7 -One way leads to destruction & one to life . This is a question that requires a big answer. In the first instance this is a Biblical statement of fact which you can track from Genesis to Revelation in God's word The Holy Bible. Two choices, God's way or man's way. We are all on a journey, learning and growing to be all that Our Creator created us to be. Free will is the vehicle on which we travel on the journey. When we make wrong choices there is always a price to pay (Kharma). Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ having destroyed the penalty of sin which was death ( sin being defined as disobedience to God) we can seek and find God and come to know His ways which are infinitely better than ours through love. Jesus loves us so much He died for us that we might live and have life more abundantly. When we seek we find. We come to know the ways of God through His word and come to know what is acceptable to Him.. We can then choose to be wise or foolish, we can choose to love or hate. we can choose peace, happiness and joy instead of despair and misery. Free will gives us that choice but only if we receive and accept the responsibility that comes with it.

The plan is as follows:
1. go forth and multiply
2. follow the commandments
3. love others as God(Jesus) loves you

The last one takes a little bit of thought, but in the end, it was the ultimate sacrifice.
The road with these simple rules is truly narrow, but look at all the temptations out there to steer you away from the rules.
3 rules to follow, a million ways to fall down. When faced with a decision, check to see if it falls within the rules. If not, you are being fooled.

I can understand you wanting to do the right thing, but if you don't know the answer don't worry about it. You are still learning and finding your way. As long as you are doing your best with an open mind and a willing heart, God is not going to condemn you. (Man might, but then they are not the sort of people you should be taking notice of anyway.)
Be at peace with yourself and let God show you the way.

forgive me if I'm wrong, i don't read the bible. however it seems that it's about doing what's right as oppose to doing what's easy.

we all make decisions in our life, and each decision is like a crossroads with different routes that we can take.

i guess in a Christine sense following the 10 commandments would be a good start, but i believe it's about personal sacrifice, fight for those that others ignore.

many people call Jesus there Lord but do not as he commands. all who follow the true doctrine are in agreement, the word is plain but many refuse to give up there godless customs/traditions.there is a way that seem right to man but in the end leads to destruction. the way to the kingdom is to prove all things by the word of God.if there is a custom and you cant find it being done by the apostles in the bible, well you know it is not of God.don't be fooled, most when put to the test of the bible doctrine are in ERA . if you want to learn the true doctrine of Jesus Christ as Given by the apostles go to http://www.web spawner.com/users/esth and ask what you wish.peace.

Just asking this question means you are on the right path. Continue to seek the face of God. In all you do - school, work, play, life, service - remember his ways. Seek God when you are making big decisions. Continue to worship him, love your brothers and sisters, and enjoy your life in simple devotion.

Jesus Christ said I am the way, the life and the resurrection. That is he is the path that leads to life and more abundant life and even eternal life. Know him as God the Son, the Savior, the Lord, and your friend. Peace.

Jesus Christ is the Way that leads to life. The right way is to believe in Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and get to know the Holy Spirit in you well and allow the Holy Spirit to direct your spiritual walk and transform you to be like Jesus to live the life of God's kingdom on earth..

Read your Bible, and find what God's will is, and then do that. If you compare your life to the standards that God has set, then you will be on the narrow path. But, from one who is travelling that narrow pathway, it's not easy, but it's straight. If you want more help, go to the web site wbns.us and listen to the story 'The Pilgrims Promise'. It's an allegory, but it will show you what the narrow path is and how to get to it.
