Global warming. It is not a myth, it is something real happening today. Don't be confused of the myth of global warming and the myth of the CAUSE of global warming. We've had an ice age and global warming, ice age and global warming. It's a natural part of the Earth's climate change.
The deal with global warming is that most scientists (especially the unheard ones) are trying to tell people that the cause of global warming is in fact NOT due to our burning of fossil fuels, like the media wants us to believe. Sure, it contributes but when you look at it on the scale of things, the human contribution in minimal compared to the NATURAL change in climate. And if you think about it logically then it makes sense.. If it's really OUR fault, then why is there global warming on Mars, our closest planet?
So basically, global warming is the quite the opposite to and ice age. The Earth is heating up and the ice caps may melt but the idea that the Earth will flood all depends on how long we're in global warming before the climate changes again.
In the meantime, we should be concentrating on preserving the environment for our future and not just using global warming as our environmental awareness excuse.
This greeny propaganda is all bull.. Science prevails..

Global warming is a long term trend during which the average temperatures across the planet increase. The earth goes through natural warming and cooling cycles and has done since it was created a little over 4.5 billion years ago, these natural cycles are Natural Global Warming.
In the last 200 years temperatures have been rising much faster than can be attributed to natural events and the view is that this unprecedented rise is caused by human activities, something called Anthropogenic Global Warming.

Some gases ("greenhouse gases") let sunlight in, which warms the Earth, and then block that heat from leaving. That's the "greenhouse effect", and it's a natural thing, mostly caused by water vapor.
Man is making excessive amounts of greenhouse gases, mostly by burning fossil fuels. That causes the delicate natural balance to go out of whack and the Earth warms. That's global warming.
It won't be a Hollywood style disaster. Gradually coastal areas will flood and agriculture will be damaged. But it will be very bad. Rich countries will cope, but it will take huge amounts of money. In poor countries many people will die of starvation, but not all of them.
Most scientists say, in 20-50 years. But we need to start right now to fix it, fixing it will take even longer than that.

A MYTH
Scientists who actually work in these fields flatly contradict Gore. Take his allegations that extreme weather (EW) events will increase in frequency and severity as the world warms and that this is already happening. Former professor of climatology at the University of Winnipeg Dr. Tim Ball notes, "The theories that Gore supports indicate the greatest warming will be in polar regions. Therefore, the temperature contrast with warmer regions -- the driver of extreme weather -- will lessen and, with it, storm potential will lessen."

A cyclical event occurring every few centuries where the earth temperature rises a few degrees. Man does not affect it either to cause it or stop it. Scientists who tell the facts are fired, because it has been so politicized.
