A significant system subscription to Calvinist doctrine (e.g. Three forms of Unity, Westminster Standards), faithfully guarding the fundamentals of the faith (e.g. Trinity, Resurrection, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, Bible Alone) and that they are comparatively conservative (e.g. oppose homosexuality, abortion, evolution; and do not ordain women elders).

The most important things for me in a church would be a pastor that speaks the true word of God. Not just what people want to hear.

The entire bible being taught and allowing the bible to teach. I've seen men stand up and have something to say about every single verse as if each one stands alone, and honestly I recieve more blessing from my own studies. I find that scriptures agree, and that one scripture isn't good enough for any one doctrine to be established on. I have a hard time thinking that certain portions are not needed in study. God has saved every page for you and me. He doesn't care about titles or education, He care's about quality far, far more than quantity.

A happy congregation. Welcome. But also a bit of space until you decide you fit in.
I odn't like "happy-clappy", but that is a personal choice.
An approachable vicar.

I'm assuming that I am there because I agree with the doctrines and teachings as professed by said vicar.

Great stained glass windows. Gives you something to look at while the preacher is spreading nonsense.

Building itself. If it looks old and majestic, I will like it more.

THE TRUTH,THE WORD OF GOD,Good minister of Jesus Christ
1Tm:4:6: If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained.
1Tm:4:7: But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness.
1Tm:4:8: For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.
1Tm:4:9: This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation.
1Tm:4:10: For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
1Tm:4:11: These things command and teach.
1Tm:4:12: Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
1Tm:4:13: Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
1Tm:4:14: Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
1Tm:4:15: Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
1Tm:4:16: Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
