This is the American Mini Horse Association's web site. Should have answers for you about minis and what differences there are: Otherwise, same as other horses!
If you don't know about breeding, google everything ,read everything, and if you can work your way up at a breeders barn learning everything from food to muck. That is a good start!

whatever you do dont breed that one year old filly wait till that mini is over the age of three because the horse stops growing and your ending up with alot of problems (both for mom and baby) breeding is a hard thing to get into, cause then you have to worry about taking care of mom when she is pregnant, buying all the shots and more vet bills. And training the baby. I dont want to discourage you though. But get a good mare at the good solid age of 5 or 6. Make sure she is sound also. If your up to breeding then take a look around on the net and talk to some professional horse breeders, Im sure they would like to help.. Goodluck!

Breeding anything before its mature is never a good idea.

Mares may carry healthy foals after three years, while stallions are better bred after 5.

You can actually buy books on horse breeding and stallion care. Story's guide to raising horses is a good book, so is keeping stallions. Search on Amazon.

If you don't know this, don't breed.
