The Holy SPIRIT, (NOT GHOST) is part of the Trinity. He was sent from Christ and IS ALSO a Comforter to us while we are in this Flesh Life to intercede for us in helping us on this earth. Christ said, "I WILL NOT leave you comfortless, BUT will SEND ANOTHER. Lo, I AM with you till the end of the Age"

We can know that the Holy Spirit/ghost is indeed a Person because He possesses a mind, emotions, and a will. The Holy Spirit thinks and knows (1 Corinthians 2:10). The Holy Spirit can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30). The Spirit intercedes for us (Romans 8:26-27). The Holy Spirit makes decisions according to His will (1 Corinthians 12:7-11). The Holy Spirit is God, the third “Person” of the Trinity. As God, the Holy Spirit can truly function as the Comforter and Counselor that Jesus promised He would be (John 14:16,26; 15:26).

The trinity of God is: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. Think of the Holy Ghost as a part of God that comes to live inside a person when they become born again/saved. The promise of the Holy Spirit is explained in the book of John chapter 16. You need to, if you are truly interested, read this chapter and see for yourself. Being spoon-fed God's Word is NOT good. We are responsible for our own knowledge and growth before the Lord. However, I will give you a few promises why the Holy Spirit is necessary. #1.The Holy Spirit reminds us of the Word of God. Why? Because in order to know what God says we must study His Word consistently. #2. The Holy Spirit will lead us from the old man ( unsaved) to the new man in Christ. #3. The Holy Spirit convict us of sin.

People get it mixed up all the time....There are in fact three personages....God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost....The Holy Ghost helps us. It is like a guide to us. For example... to make the right chooses......Its always with you until you make that tiny mistake like maybe going to a party where there will be drinking....the Holy Ghost will not be with you anymore...Once you have cleaned up your act...you could say....the Holy Ghost is back with you.
I hope this made sense.....You can also go to LDS.org And search this.....It may help.

The Holy Spirit "The Comforter" sometimes refer ed by man as the Holy Ghost is very special, so special that Jesus pronounced that this entity is "Greater than I". The Holy Spirit was sent to earth upon Jesus's Resurrection to guide us all who believe in God and want counseling. You can even think that the Holy Spirit is like the Number one Guardian Angel, and is so close to God that the Holy Spirit has omnipresence just like God...thus is Extremely important.
The Holy Trinity is GOD, Jesus, Holy Spirit
If this confuses you just think of the family...Father, Son and Mother.....Is the Holy Ghost Female? It is not said but sometimes I wonder

The Holy Ghost or the Holy Spirit indwells a person and their spirit which has laid dorment, comes alive when they receive Christ as their Saviour and Lord.
The Holy Spirit is our comforter.
If you read the book of Acts in the Bible, it will give you much greater insight than the room I have here to do so.
God bless you - great question

The bible has a notion of the trinity. Since they already had God, later they came up with Jesus. And since 2 is not a good number they added the holy ghost.

I think Holy Ghost or Spirit is the Christian name for the Divine Force in the Universe. I believe it is real, it is their version of 'God' that I find questionable. And their mis-identification of Jesus.
It is everywhere and It is Divine.

God is three individuals in one. God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He, not it, is that part of God that draws us to accept Christ as our savior, convicts us of sin, assures us of salvation, enables us to live a victorious life, to understand the Bible, empowers us to share Christ with others. The power of God comes to us by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is that part of God that dwells in us. It is He who is referred to as the new man in Christ in us.

He is God the Holy Spirit. He was involved in the creation of the world. He draws us to God the Father. He empowers Christians to conform to the image of God the Son. He convicts us of our sin. He preserves us to the life to come. He teaches and comforts us. He makes the Word of God come alive to us.
