Y Muslims don’t raise a finger against terrorism???

Question

The thing is most terrorists are Muslims, that’s a fact whether u accept it or not, yet just for saying that most of’em will go nuts, if u care so much bout the image of this religion, y do u let terrorists gather arms and train. I mean Al-Qaeda r Muslims and it originated in Islamic countries, many r adopting its ideology nowadays even though they (Al-Qaeda) kill other Muslims. But no Muslim announces Jihad against’em they just wait for a Christian or Jew to speak then they r all ready to kill him in order to defend their religion, y not kill the infidels within before u try to convert the rest of the world????

Please spare me the “u r a racist speech” I did not offend God, Koran or Muhammad.

I am not a Muslim but I believe in Mosques men and women are separated. The Tube bombers from Leeds all had families and some wives and children and they had no idea what their men were about to do, so I assume it's related to the mosque i.e. meeting people, but the ideas were outside somewhere else. I am NOT saying Mosques produce terrorists at all! What is confusing for me is that Islam is a relatively new religion yet it has some of the most backward rules that a huge amount of men and women adhere to. In my experience at University, Muslim girls will only hang around with other Muslim girls and these girls will also 'sort' themselves into those who wear just a headscarf or others who cover everything up totally. I think radical Muslims just gain support from young men who are looking for something in their life and fill them with hatred for the Western world, but I do not know why...It is such a shame that barbarity like this still goes on today and we should not counteract it with more barbarity.

Actually, there are a lot of Muslims around the world who have spoken out against terrorism and have denounced the terrorists. I have done it as well.

Just because you don't read about it in the mainstream press does not mean it isn't happening.

Dig a little deeper you will find it.

And by the way, did you never hear of Pakistan? The second largest Muslim country in the world is fighting a war with the terrorists on the Afghan border? Also, the fatwah (Islamic legal opinion) that specifically states that Muslims are allowed to join armed forces that are fighting terrorists? Don't deny the many many Muslim men and women who are fighting in the US Armed forces in Iraq and Afghanistan.

I think you are misinformed.. Have you ever been out of your own state.. open your mind to the rest of the world. You will see there firstly, Americans classify Sunni and Shiia as being the same.. they are not the majority of Muslims are Sunni.. the Shiia believe in Jihad.. The Sunni and Shiia fight everyday. So, before you open your big mouth and pass judgment think about what your saying. Your saying things you really do not know. Educate yourself.. Read the Quran, you will know Islam is a religion of peace. People need to educate themselves so they start to put the blame where it belongs and that is on these who hide behind saying they are Muslims they are not Muslims..... Western Media corrupts your mind.. look at the Movie 300.....

I have wondered the same. Lebanon's government's actions in recent days have given a glimmer of hope that all is not lost. I am quite impressed,and hopefully,it catches on. It is very rewarding to see an Arab state acting against terrorists. This does ease my mind somewhat as until then,I really had the same thought as you. But give credit where it's due. I'm not convinced that none of them speak up. However, in Muslim countries, there is no such thing as freedom of the press. So we would not necessarily hear about the people who speak up.
