Phone the emergency number and explain they can tell you if they feel it is an emergency. My guess if it got that large overnight is that it is an allergic reaction to possibly an insect/spider bite

It could be something and nothing, however, this is one of those times when the emergency number is a definite must. Don't delay call the emergency number and see a vet, they will be able to put your mind at rest and hopefully sort the problem out for your quickly.

I have a collie/boxer mix and she had the same thing happen. She ended up having to have 3 of her nipples removed along with the tissue around it. It wasnt malignant, but it wasnt normal either. The difference is that this developed over months time. The quick onset in your dog makes me think that its probably some type of injury or something else. Theres no harm in taking you dog to the emergency vet, you never know what it could be. It's better to be safe than sorry.

I wouldn't wait until Tuesday. Better safe than sorry. Take the dog to the vet for an emergency visit.

Try not to panic but if it's inflamed it could be an abscess or something infected. it could also be something in the gland. I wouldn't wait through the weekend I would call the emergency number. if it is an infection you don't want it to get into the blood stream.
I wish you luck and it ends up being nothing but don't wait to see.

First look at the area. do you see any injury or tiny sore/puncture mark? these could indicate that she was stung by a bee or bitten by a spider.. If there is nothing there feel it. Does it feel hot? this could indicate infection or absess in the area. If none of these apply I would worry that it might be a mammary gland tumor and possibly cancer :( Is she spayed? it is thought that spaying a female can reduce the incidence of such cancers. Good luck and I'll be praying for her!

Call the emergency vets number and ask them what they think, they will give you a rough idea of what it could be and tell you what to do. It could be cancer which will need looking at asap.

Sounds like an abcess.Ring the emergency No. and ask their advice It will possibly need draining and a course of antibiotics. If you leave it the dog will probably be in pain by tomorrow.

DEFINITELY call the vet. I have a Min Pin/Jack Russell and I take NO chances with his health. I would feel awful if I thought about calling and didn't call and something worse happened later. Make the call. Good Luck and I hope your dog is okay.

Yes... you dont know what it could be, or how big is it, if is benign or malignant... so you have to call your vet right away and take her there... It could be something bad or nothing at all, but anyway just call your vet and have it check out RIGHT AWAY... better safe than sorry... When you call your vet explain what she has, he would tell you if it can wait or if you have to take her right now... Your vet is the one that knows so call him...!! Hope she is okay...! =)
