i have a 800 electric bill from 2 years ago, thats what they sent to the credit bural, but now im down to 200, cant budget to pay the rest off right now. but i want it on my report to say the amount that im down to, is there any way like sending the bill the burals its self, i dunno thank you

It's supposed to show the original amount owed, then once you close the account, it'll show it as the account was turned in with an 800$ balance and has a remaining balance of 0$.

That's just the way it is and the way it works.

Report the inaccuracy to one of the major credit bureaus and they will investigate and do all the leg work. Once they find that the amount being reported as owed isn't the same as the amount you owe, they'll force the change on your credit report. FYI you can file an online report through Equifax without having to pay.
