I don't want to argue about whether abortion is right or wrong, b/c I've got bigger fish to fry:

If the woman wants an Abotion, she'll find a way to get one, none the less, so, why not use the unborn fetus for good? No matter what, there will always be a place for the woman to get an abortion, so why shouldn't we use it? It has nothing to do with whether or not abortion is right or wrong, it's about the fetus. Why should we let it go to waste? That woman is gonna do what she wants, so, the unborn fetus will be gone, no matter what; shouldn't we STOP arguing and USE what we can to advance medical technology? To SAVE lives? Don't you think it's selfish to just let it go to waste? Instead of save ANOTHER unborn baby who would have diabetes? Or would be sick and in need or a transplant? There are numberous reasons, it seems that you've lost your way. --In your fight to prevent "babies" from dying, you are letting millions or other sick people die!

Please answer! ♥ Have an nice day!!

Gezza D- How does that make me sick? B/c I'd rather that we use the unborn fetus to SAVE lives, instead of sulk and argue about whether it was right or wrong? No, I think that makes YOU the sick one.

The concept of when life begins is essentially religious. If one accepts that life begins at the instant of conception, it means that a soul enters into the fertilized egg at this moment, and when an abortion is performed, a life is ended. Now we must consider who has the right to end the life of another human being...

Will, I don't mean to burst your bubble, but there are hundreds or THOUSANDS of unadopted children in the U.S. ...I don't know where you got your info, but please, try again.

Will-

That's not true. There are countless number of children in foster care waiting to be adopted. The truth is, people are selfish and only want to adopt healthy white babies in the US, rather than sick non-white older kids. The ones who adopt from asia often do so because they don't fit the criteria for adoption in the US and occassionally they will do so out of the whole idea of saving a poor kid.

Anyway, I do think that it is reasonable to use the aborted fetus for stem cell research. I definitely think it should be a choice for the woman though, and not automatic as I imagine that it would create more guilt for some people.

edit: wait, I just realized I'm not a religious figure. Sorry.

The problem here is that all these women are being selfish. They don't want the responsibility of having a child. Okay, there can be circumstances for that that I can understand, but to just kill the child? Why do you think people go to Asia and across the world to adopt children? Because there are none to adopt in the United States because everyone is just killing the unborn child. If all these women had brains, they'd have the child and give the child up for adoption. They don't ever have to worry about them again, and at least now they're safe. And, uh, on the diabetes issue. My sister has diabetes. And you know what, she lives perfectly fine. I don't understand why you wouldn't give a child a chance to live because they have a disease. Life is too precious to use it the way humans do today.

Abortion ends a child's life

You can hear the heartbeat after just a short time

Life begins at conception

Also.....if you were to keep up with Medical Research, you would know that not one single treatment or cure has been developed from aborted fetus' while MANY have been developed from adult stem cells.

The many sick people you speak of have a FAR better chance with adult stems than aborted stems.......and babies don't have to be murdered in the process

BTW..even though there are 100's of 1000's of children waiting in the U.S. to be adopted, there are many more parents waiting to adopt them..........Get your Legislator to help stop all the lengthy RED TAPE and there won't be nearly as many waiting for a home.
Government is the biggest part of the problem you are trying to use as an example

If you're only talking about getting stem cells from the dead fetus, I believe at that point it is too late. Embryonic stem cells are what the debate is really about. I believe stem cells from the fetus would be at the same level of development as those of the placenta. The argument is over the earliest of stem cells because the thought is they can be manipulated easier. At this time there is no advantage of one level of stem cell over another. There also is no limits outside of government funding on stem cell research. The argument is over federal funding. Embryonic stem cell research goes on today all around the world and even in the U.S. with the limited amount they have. And to top it off, most of the medical advances today are coming from stem cells not of the embryonic type.

I do not claim to know much in this area, like you, so someone who knows more may have a better answer.

There comes a time when you must draw a clear line and stand on it. Like at what instant in time does does a human being get the right to live.
Abortion was wrong. You can't take two wrongs and make a right. I have told my family "don't use an unborn baby to save my life". Even though I am disabled and have life threatening heart problems I am ready to meet God, without having another life to die to try to save mine.
God bless you and have a nice day.

While,I understand and am somewhat symathetic to your postition...I am a pro-life Christian, that feels by using the fetus,we are no better than the Drs and nurses that assist in the abortion process. It would be like a stamp of approval by doing so.

I have read how the German's made lamp shades and soap products from the skin and bodies of the dead Jew's murdered in Nazi Germany...And I see very little difference in the analogy.

Religions extremist xians have been against abortion because they say it is in the bible. Now they have been frantically looking for secular proof of their religious claim. But the on and most important thing of all is never mentioned. What makes you think you can impose your religion on others. You would never accept if Atheist would impose their beliefs on you. If you really believed in your god you would pray and let god take care of it. But you know god wont do nothing......

even as someone who is pro choice ...
i dont believe we should " use " the unborn foetus
I feel it is quite unethical
and with things like diabetes , it has been shown that adult stem cell is much more effective , so there is no need
