I'm proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps. However, that pride is being tested, since the USMC is allowing bureaucracy to interfere with the acquisition of necessary gear (source 1), and since the USMC has partnered with the National Council of La Racists (source 2).
I'm proud of my country, too, although I'm thoroughly disgusted with our government.
And I'm proud of everyone else who's served their country, even the doggies, zoomies, and squids. ;)
Happy Memorial Day to all our surviving veterans. Let us never forget our brothers--and sisters--who never came home. And let us never forget our veterans' families, because they served, too.
JMB, still jarheaded after all these years

Long term service family - Army - Navy - USMC - Army Air Corps. WAC. I was a medic (91 Bravo) and had a hole punched in my lung and did not get a chance to career as I had planned. So I spent the next 35 years as an RN until the lung caught up with me. Now I live on your tax money. Thank you all very much for the checks. God Bless America and all who stand to serve and protect.

3 year enlistment Army Infantry, 14 months Vietnam and I'm certainly not ashamed of it. Both my parents were WWII vets of the Army Air Corps (Dad was a Flight Surgeon's Assistant and Mom was a Regimental Drill Instructor) and now my eldest Grandson is a PFC, USMC. I think I'm more proud of him than myself.

I spent three years in the Army and four years in the Navy Reserve, but I don't consider myself a vet. My dad spent thirty years in the Air Force, saw combat in two wars, he's a vet. I did my time and I'm proud of it
