mind puzzles - logic and reasoning, crosswords, lateral thinking, exercise, plenty of water, walking or swimming frequently, less stress, reading, flicking through the dictionary....painting, maths puzzles.......humming mozart in the bathroom....

Two things:

1. Challenge your mind with puzzles, questions, riddles, etc. - anything that gets your mind to thinking.

2. Invoke your creativity - art, music, sculpting, - something that allows you to express your inner self more fully.

Pull the plug on the television. Do something. Make a unique garden. Plant trees in different geometrical pattern (who knows? Maybe one day people in the future will think aliens planted them that way! LOL) Build a model of some type from scratch using stuff from around your home.

Just remember, your brain acts as if it's a muscle - use it and it gets stronger; let it sit and it WILL get weaker with inactivity.

First of all there are not any pills that help brain power.

Reading is a great way to activate your prefrontal cortex, the thinking area of your brian. Especially reading aloud. There are many video games for Nintendo DS that are proven to help improve brain age and power. One is called brain age, another is mind quiz, brain boost, brain academy. They really have helped me to be sharper. It is also good for your brain hand activation to play video games on TV. Just not for to long. Keeping your brain healthy and learning new information is essential to not losing your brain function because after the age of like 30, you start losing brain function. Find ways to keep your mind activated and functioning at its peak and you will improve your brain power.

Using your brain and learning new things helps maintain and create new synapsis. Keep active to maintain and create new neural pathways.

Use it or loose it applies to you brain in most every way.

Of course, avoid drugs, alcohol and many artificial sweeteners which can degrade the brain.

Keep an open mind to new ideas and old. Understand many positions and standpoints from different issues of many different sides. Stay away from drugs, lol. Read read read, and physical activity.
