I guess what I really want to know is if there's such a thing as love without physical attraction...

That is platonic love. That means you only love this person as a friend, which is O.K. Just don't expect that person to not have anyone else in their life. Any mature adult that loves another mature adult will want to express their love in a physical manner.

I think it is possible to really love someone and not sleep with them but as others have already said its your family you love that way. If you are looking for a relationship with someone you have fallen in love with then that would include physical as well as emotional love.

Don't you love your friends without being physically attracted to them?
I know that I love my friends more than anything, but I'm not about to go and try to sleep with them, no matter what their gender is.

Of course there is. As many answerers have said it's called 'Platonic Love' and if anything this love is the most enduring and powerful love of all because it's love that you feel in your heart and in your soul and not between your legs. Platonic love can last for a lifetime....and who knows maybe beyond. It's the love that we feel for our true friends, for family ..... and for soul mates. It is about caring for someone, having empathy for their feelings, about holding them when they cry, the joy of embracing them when you haven't seen them for a long time, it's about listening, laughing, wanting to be with someone without actually wanting to BE with them.
I have a friend called Dawn who I have known all my life. She lived on the farm next door so we played together, then as our lives changed we grew up together. I'm not saying that I wasn't in love with her for a few of our teenage years and yes we kissed and played at being lovers but we out grew it and the love we have now is far more powerful than sexual attraction could ever be because she is part of me.
Platonic love if anything is the one true love because it's the love we feel for someone which words can't express....we never have to tell them 'I love you' because they already feel it too!!!

What are you crazy! I mean yes and no. If you are in love then it could be an obsession. Or you could be in love with the person and who they are yet not attracted to them making it hard if at all possible to make love to them. So yes, I think.

It's called Platonic Love; an intimate companionship or relationship, esp. between two persons of the opposite sex, that is characterized by the absence of sexual involvement; a spiritual affection

Honestly, I say that relationships last longer when you don't want to sleep with them, it strengthens the bond between you mentally.

Well, there is such thing as "someone growing on you".
Give it a chance, especially if they're a good, decent person. Give it time - you just might be surprised!!! God Bless!!
