What would the purpose of asking someone to make this type of promise? What I am hearing is you want
1. Control someones feelings.
2. To know that you are not ready for a commitment in a relationship.
3. You may have a secret desire they will fall in love with you.
Would it just be easier to let them know that you have no desire or plans for an exclusive relationship.

sounds like somthin of a movie, well idont think that it i fair because the only way for someone to fall in love with someone else is if on of the people leads the other to thunk that what they have together is being more than just friends.

Sounds like that's a promise that might not be able to kept. You can't control your feelings (or any one's for that matter) so no it is not fair.

i think it's more considerate to tell them that you only want a casual relationship. Or, that your shizophrenic and could change without notice.
