I`m just curious to know how many people believe the courts they show on tv is real. All the yelling and insults just dont happen too often in real court and some of the judges are real rude and call the plaintiff or defendant losers, bums, scum of the earth and stuff like that.

I have a friend who knows people that have been on a court show before. They had a REAL lawsuitand they did receive REAL money, PLUS they got free airfare and hotel stay, BUT they were given guidelines on how to act, etc.

Some have real issues behind them but most are just made up. They need to have a case that will get the attention of the audience so they get people to either agree to behave a certain way or make up a situation in which the outcome would be interesting to the people who watch. But I know this only because when a close family friend was going through a divorce they were asked to appear on divorce court because their case seemed interesting and hen one of my uncles got a call from the Judge Judy Show and was asked to appear in a case in which he was fighting over farm land. He lives in Los Angeles! So in short some are real but others no.
