i have had so many navy wives speak badly of the marines and marine wives, and the marine wives speak badly of the navy wives...and the same with other branches.
why is this? arent we on the same side? shouldnt we support each other? deployments are hard.

Wives of soldiers in the different branches of services are trying to show that the branch of service of their husband is the best. That is the main reason that they speak badly of each other.

My husband is not in the military but I hear this quite often. I have heard so many people downgrade the USMC more often than the other branches, comments such as, the USMC are just a look out military, they never get involved in any action. Why is this being said? To me it is very rude for military wives/husbands to downgrade the branch of military that their husbands/wives are not in. They are all fighting for our country and all the branches need every ones support. I am currently trying to find a way to communicate with the military, any branch to give our support. A lady posted a question on what to say to someone in the military and you gave a good response, I pray that you could help me. As an American citizen, I want to be able to do my part, I want to show my support to the American soldiers.

I honestly don't speak badly of Navy wives. I'm also a Marine Corps wife. I have encountered some Navy officer wives who think there stuff don't stink, but we mainly laugh at them because they're trying to bask in their husbands rank.
It's all good though. We're all fighting the same war and we all wants our guys to come home safe!!

Good question. All the branches compete to see whoses the best, and who does/did the most in the war,etc. Sort of like sibling rivalry. Everybody's trying to impress big daddy Bush, so wives of soldiers take their beefs with other services just like their hubbies...Go Navy. And we (the military in a whole) should support each other,we're all over there together.

Navy: Marines are a department of the NAVY
Marine: Yep, the MEN's Department.
I have family in all but the army, so I hear a lot of the banter between the brances

I'm a navy wife but i have never heard anyone talk bad about any other wives i think we all hurt the same way we all go threw the same type of pain having to say goodbye to our husbands for long period of time.

I've never come across this, but a lot of it is probably jealousy and competition. Everyone is in the same situation and should support and help each other.
