It makes me sad that we connot respect each other's religion. God is love. As a Jesusian (followwer of Jesus) I love all people of all religions. There are people I don't like very much, but it is not because they call God by another name.

It's ok if you don't agree with me, but please don't be unkind to me because I shared my views.

My prayer to God is for the people of this world to stop hating so much and to love each other so we can experience peace.

Pugwashjw:

I am sorry that the term "bash" was offensive to you. I assure you, the responses I have read in this catagory in no way resemble the loving corrections I gave to children I have taught over the years.

Perhaps I should have used a different word because I was tring to express my sadness (in a non-offensive way) over the way the different religions treat each other.

It may interest you to know that when the people from the Jehovah'ss Wittness religion come to my door I have had very nice conversations with them and I have received interesting lititure from them Also, I have a copy of the Holy Bible used by the Jehovah's Wittness, along with many other versions of the Holy Bible, and the Book of Mormon, given to me by two nice young men who came to my door, and a Holy Qur'an (Translation and Commentary) which was given to my husband from a friend. He gave it to me because of my interest in being open to the love of God that is expressed in each of these books

Thanks for your response. Actually, I would want a doctor to read a driver's handbook, and perhaps a bird-watcher's book, and psychology book and any other books that he/she is interested in. It would make him/her a better doctor because he/she would be more well-rounded.

I don't read other books to find God. God is in my heart and throughout my whole being. The Holy Bible tellls me to love everyone. Have you read the good samaritan? Who is our neighbor? Have you read we need to love everyone? How can I love everyone if I don't understand everyone? That is what I a looking for in the books that I read. I have found God in the Holy Bible, and I am interested in how others have found God. I don't want to change my religion and find the "real God". You missed my point. I am searching ways to love everyone, even those who don't agree with me or don't understand me. I don't just hang around with my Christian friends. Jesus hung around with many kinds of people.

I love you. People of the other religions are not taught values, or they are taught, but choose to not listen.
They will always be here, and trying to change their ways will only amplify their hate.

Forgive them and say an extra prayer for the poor people.

Nothing pisses Hateful people more than Forgiveness, Understanding and Compassion.

To make a comment about the lower part of your statement,

I, not to long ago counseled a man who could not figure out why his wife would not accept Christ as Savior.

He said he was a born again Christian (which I explained to him that, that is the only kind of Christian there is, "You must be born again".

He started telling me He was "searching for God" by studying all these other books (mostly the same ones you mentioned along with a few others).

I reminded him he stated he was a Christian and being such means he had already "found God".

And He went on to try to explain that he read all these other books looking for the "right" god.

I then told him that the reason his wife did not accept Christ was because she did not "know" Christ, how can she know Christ when you (her husband) don't even know Him?"

I also told him if he wanted to know Christ he should study the Holy Christian Bible and burn the other Junk he has in his house.

Now I know what some will say "how dare I say burn the other junk".

Look at it this way I am a Christian Minister, If you tell me you are looking for God or Christ, I am (not) going to tell you to read anything else other than the Bible.

If I told you I wanted to be Medical Doctor would you tell me to read the "Drivers hand-book?" no, of course not.

So why are people shocked that a Christian would tell someone to read the Bible?

The books you have is your business, it depends on what you are looking for....

But if you are looking for eternity with Christ Jesus, then Read the Holy Christian Bible.

Perhaps people see it as bashing one another. But maybe you should take it lightly. Some people are angry, confused, curious, and may not even know they are doing it. These are just opinions and thoughts that people are vomitting on a single page. You take the good with the bad, take a little bit of this and leave a little bit of that. Learn, study, keep moving, and keep smiling. Not everyone will love what you have to say and not everyone will hate it. Keep sharing your views, because you might have an answer to someone's question, and keep asking because someone might have an answer for you.

If we know that a particular religion makes a claim, and we also know that it is NOT supported by scripture, then it is important, considering this type of forum, to set the matter straight.
It is not really bashing the other religion, but simply pointing out the error.
When teachers teach children, they do it all the time. Point out the child's error.
People do not call teaching....child bashing.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17) All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work.

REPROVING...SETTING THINGS STRAIGHT.

Because we all think that we are right. The internet is the perfect place to air our differences. No one really leaves insulted (because you know what your getting when you come here). No friendships are lost.

There are benefits to putting down others religion. You can be corrected if your claim was wrong. You can gain knowledge about the different religions. You can know more about your own religion by attempting to counter arguements.

PS. I dont agree with you, but thats OK.

I am only speaking from my own opinion but,I think that too many people try change other peoples beliefs ,because they get a dirty little kick out hurting people. If you have ever been confronted by a non believer, they will bark their non belief in your face as if they wanted to hit you with it. I thank god I have my faith and my christien freinds to turn to.And my parents who taught me to respect other peoples opinions. We who love god need to remember that there is only one god and all of the denominations lead to him.

The word "Islam" is an Arabic word which means "submission to the will of God "Allah - SWT". This word comes from the same root as the Arabic word "salam", which means "peace". As such, the religion of Islam teaches that in order to achieve true peace of mind and surety of heart, one must submit to Allah (SWT) and live according to His Divinely revealed Law. The most important truth that Allah (SWT) revealed to mankind is that there is nothing divine or worthy of being worshipped except for Almighty Allah (SWT), thus all human beings should submit to Him. The word "Muslim" means one who submits to the will of Allah (SWT), regardless of their race, nationality or ethnic background.
Being a Muslim entails willful submission and active obedience to Allah (SWT), and living in accordance with His message. Some people mistakenly believe that Islam is just a religion for Arabs, but nothing could be further from the truth. Not only are there converts to Islam in every corner of the world, especially in England and America, but by taking a look at the Muslim World from Bosnia to Nigeria, and from Indonesia to Morocco, one can clearly see that Muslims come from many various races, ethnic groups and nationalities. It is also interesting to note that in actuality, more than 80% of all Muslims are not Arabs - there are more Muslims in Indonesia than in the whole Arab World! So though even though it is true that most Arabs are Muslims, the large majority of Muslims are not Arabs. However, anyone who submits completely to Allah (SWT) and worships Him alone is a Muslim.

Most of it is in reaction to the extreme postings of pseudo Christians!!!

They do immense harm to the reputation of Christianity and it's followers and make spreading God's word very difficult.

There is a lot of confusion, anger and pain in today`s societies and it symptomatic of this that religion is used as an outlet.
Please accept a star as a token of peace and love.

That would be good, except for one thing. satan is the god of this world, and until Jesus returns to this earth there will not be any peace.
