Yes it would put you another £1000 in credit making £1500 but i would enquire with the credit card company if that then sets your "spending" limit to this new amount to match your new available limit.

nope, u will have to ring up and ask for your credit limit to be increased, all the extra thousand pond will do is lie in the credit card account giving u a credit balance of £1500 but available credit of £500

Yes, but ideally you should spend no more than you deposit - use it like a prepaid card and it won't cost you a penny, for cash withdrawals or goods, apart from the goverment tax on it once a year.
