Does this mean the airborne didn't work for me? Am I gonna get a full blown cold now? My husband got the cold from work. He didn't take airborne at all. He had had a full blown cold for over a week, almost two and I had developed no symptoms at all until a couple nights ago when I felt something in my throat. I didn't have any pain in my throat at all yet, it just felt like there was something in my throat. I bought some Airborne the very next morning and started taking it every 3 hours. Well it's been 2 whole days and there are only 2 Airborne tablets left in the tube, my throat hurts like heck when I swallow and I've been coughing a little. I'm gonna go ahead and finish off the tube, but do you think it will work for me? I mean should one tube have been enough to prevent me from getting a full blown cold or do I need to buy another tube of Airborne (each tube contains 10 tablets)? Does it sound like it's too late for the Airborne to prevent me from getting the full blown cold

There is no proof Airborne works. Here's a link to one article showing ABC's report on the dubious science behind the product.

However, the immune booster my family uses, Immune Alert, does work. The active ingredient beta glucan has been subject to hundreds of clinical studies and university research for 40 years and has been shown to improve the ability of the immune system to fight off germs.

Why go for slick marketing when you can take something that will actually help you.

Go to www.immunealert.com and get a free trial (you pay shipping and handling).

I hope you start to feel better soon.

Hmmm...I'm not a doctor, but I'm wondering if maybe you have developed a throat infection rather than a cold. That would be bacterial instead of viral and would need an anti-biotic to treat it. If it is still getting worse, it would probably be a good idea to set up an appointment with your doctor, just to be safe.

To help with the pain of a sore throat, I gargle with warm salt water a couple times a day. It tastes really nasty and makes me want to gag, but it does seem to relieve the pain a bit.

Sorry to hear you are sick and hope you are feeling better soon.

Airborne has been tested in studies and apparently doesn't work. However, zinc has been shown to be effective, so try that. Zicam works for many people, but for others it's a stimulant and just keeps them awake.
