If they want to pray at their table before lunch I have no problem. I would incourage that.
I wish people would just forget the "religious" card. School is for Learning, not for religion. Unless it's a private school.

Well, Satan isn't a god...he was a creation created BY God... But I see your point. I think it should be entirely voluntary--maybe done in the backyard or the flagpole of school a good 15-20 minutes before other students' arrivals. But other than that, I think that it almost forces kids to pray...it turns it into a meaningless routine... How many kids stand still during the Pledge of Allegiance? How many do you think could make it through the Creed or Our Father? It should be entirely optional and done before or after the common school schedule...if it's done at all. Though I love my faith, I would also defend to the death my country's view on liberties.

because of the fact re-arranging what they declare they can't do feeds their martyr complicated. in addition they say they can't take their bible to college, yet anyone who desires to can convey any of their very own books to college to apply of their very own time, as long as that ingredient would not conflict with their college or classification time. law in basic terms dictates that needed prayer has been outlawed. Open prayer (if this is frowned on or not allowed) isn't legislated, its basically coverage by the guy college. anyone (be they satanist, buddhist, christian, jew, muslim, etc.) can pray privatly at any time, alongside with throughout classification. Prayer formerly a soccer activity, or a school assembly is seen needed, becasue the human beings who're attending the form have paid to verify the activity, not take part in a particular non secular prayer, plus, because of the fact there are scholars that are interior the band and on the gang that could be of distinctive concept, and are obligated to attend, this is not seen a "public" journey such because of the fact the manhattan Yankees or the Seattle seahawks video games are.

Nope, I'm fine with that. Pray to whatever god you serve. The point is that a person's religious beliefs are at the core of what defines them as a person, and schools should not have the right to say someone cannot express those viewpoints and opinions, and then require the expression of viewpoints and opinions that are in opposition to one's beliefs.

I am a Christian and obviously I believe everyone should want to pray to God, but I also believe everyone should have the right to pray to anyone they want. God doesn't force anyone to believe in Him or worship Him. It does seem to me that it already is ok to pray or talk about any god other than Jesus. If a kid is praying to satan authorities say it is religious freedom, but if a kid talks about Jesus or brings a Bible to school they get suspended. To me it doesn't seem very fair.

Wow, so many people picking on Christians when you could have written this as Hey muslims, would you support prayer in school...................... when they are the ones killing in the name of God, not christians. American soldiers fighting in Iraq make up all types of religions, the enemy is all Muslim. Think about it. Secondly, no I would not mind it, nor would hardly any christians mind it. Christians are only butt munches about this stuff when non christians make it up. WE REALLY DONT CARE. God will judge in the end, so let him decide who was right and wrong, not us. Get over it. Also, the constitution when it was written about religous freedom, think about it dumb ***, we were all christians. We wanted to be Catholic, Luthern, or whatever type of christian we wanted to be without England telling us other wise. Hence why it was put in the constitution. People have to stop using the Const. today because it protected American Christian rights, not illegal rights, not other religion rights etc. Not saying other religions are bad, but back then, it was written for Christians by Christians.

I think children who attend school should pray before coming to class no matter who they pray to. What these kids are going to pray hoping to score good on a test? Just get the kids to study hard!

Supporting a law would be the same as agreeing to force which shouldn't happen to anyone nonetheless schools. Children should make the decision on their own without a LAW telling them they HAVE to do it regardless of whichever law it is.

Obviously theyre for only xian prayers. You dont need time to pray..you dont need to tell everyone you're doing it. When I used to believe, I would pray for a test if I didnt study the night before..but I didnt need 30 or 60 seconds set aside for exactly that.
Fundies are such pricks

Yes. I believe that children belong to God of Abraham no matter what they pray.
I have taught my daughter that she can pray the way that no one knows she is praying. I do not know how one could prevent that prayer. : )
