It's all different times, actually, as the users of this site are all around the globe.
As to why I am often up at 2:35 a.m., it is because sometimes I go to bed too early, out of boredom more than anything, and then get up in the middle of the night. I'm up for an hour or two, then go back to bed.
Since I'm retired, there's no alarm clock to keep me on a regular schedule.
BTW, why did you put this in Religion & Spirituality?

I'm at work, but taking a break. Wish I could go to bed, but that won't happen for about 6 more hours.

So, you are in the Central Time Zone. Some of us are on the Pacific coast, where the hour is still at least somewhat reasonable. Sleep well.
